In July, Garrison and I had the privilege of going to the Dominican Republjc to partner with HMM @gohmm and their widow’s ministry. Visiting with widows there and doing ministry alongside my son is an experience neither of us will forget. As we prepared to go, I kept thinking about the kindred spirit I would feel to these women by being a widow, but the differences in worldly things was vastly different. Garrison said several times, “They don’t have anything but are so joyful.”

HMM has a sponsorship program for widows. You can choose $50 or $100 a month, which provides food each month, helps with medical needs and a routine medical check each year, and pastor visit once a month. One thing I love is that this program meets the basic needs of these women.

I want to challenge you to consider sponsoring one of these women. Each one has a beautiful life story marked with devastation and loss. Contact me, and I can give you more information or visit gohmm.org.

James 1:27 “Religion that God our Father accepts as pure and faultless is this: to look after orphans and widows in their distress and to keep oneself from being polluted by the world.”

Our Oxford Campus recently sent a team to the Dominican Republic to serve alongside our partners at Hispaniola Mountain Ministries (HMM).
Each morning, the team participated in house-to-house evangelism, sharing the Gospel and building relationships within the community. In the afternoons, they hosted VBS, creating opportunities to connect with and encourage local children.
We’re thankful for the opportunity to serve alongside HMM and see God at work in the Dominican Republic!

I had the privilege to spend time with our pastors and leadership in the Dominican Republic 🇩🇴 and Haiti 🇭🇹. It’s incredible to see what God is doing in and through these men. #gohmm

Great day working with Line Creek BC (Kentwood, LA) to build a house for Maria (a wonderful person with a big smile in our widows ministry)!

🇩🇴 We made it!

Our team has safely arrived in the Dominican Republic, and we’re so thankful for God’s protection throughout our travels. It’s a blessing to have our full team together and ready to serve!

This week, we’ll have the opportunity to share the love of Christ, build relationships, and be the hands and feet of Jesus in Pedernales.

Would you join us in prayer? Please pray that God would give our team wisdom, strength, unity, and open hearts as we serve. Most importantly, pray that He would be glorified and that lives would be impacted by the hope of the Gospel.

Thank you for partnering with us through your prayers. We can’t wait to share all that God does this week! ❤️🙏

Altagracia means “Great Grace.”

Yesterday, we shared the gospel from house to house, delivered rice and beans to families, and spent the evening encouraging the local church as we talked about what it means to follow Jesus.

What a privilege to share the good news of a God whose grace is truly great. 🇩🇴❤️

Yesterday was a powerful day in Algodon. 🇩🇴

We shared the gospel from house to house, delivered rice and beans to families, prayed with parents and children in the hospital, and ended the day encouraging the local church through discipleship training.

Some moments were challenging. Some were heartbreaking. But through it all, we saw God at work.

Praying that the seeds planted will lead to a great harvest. ❤️

From homes to hospital rooms to the local church, God was at work today in Central Village.

We shared the gospel, provided food for families, prayed over those facing difficult circumstances, and spent the evening encouraging and equipping believers through discipleship training.

Different language. Same Savior. Every reason to praise. 🙌
