🇬🇭To my home farrrrr away from home, thank you for showing me LIFE. The amount I learned in the 10 weeks I spent here- about medicine, about life, about the importance of community, and about the culture overall- is unimaginable. Going abroad by myself was not easy, and I will always be proud of myself for taking a huge leap of faith. It was well worth it. Ghana will forever have a special place in my heart.
To Korle-Bu and my team(s) that never hesitated to teach me everything I needed to learn and more, I appreciate you all more than you know. This was my first time ever working in a hospital environment, entering an operating room, analyzing scans, setting IV lines, collecting blood samples, etc. I am so thankful that I was able to contribute to lifting the heavy load you all endure on a daily
basis, sacrificing your time to save lives. You are some of the strongest, most intelligent people I’ve ever met in my life and I am honored to have been lead by you all.
To my host mom and brother, thank you so much for welcoming me into your home with grace and ALWAYS making sure I’m okay. You treated me like I was your own. Nothing compares to the dinner table conversations, Favour’s homemade light soup (😞), and Bobo’s great taste in music.
To my friends, y’all put the icing on the cake with this experience. Because of you all, I REALLY got to explore Ghana outside of work and enjoy everything it has to offer. You all are some of the most genuine people on this planet, and I miss y’all more every day. We were so in the moment most of the time that we barely have any pictures😂, which is how it should be. I can’t wait to see how much you each have grown as we step into adulthood the next time I come out there.

Until next time🫶🏽…
