PUGS - We are a group of parents who are outraged that Goldsmiths’ senior management is jeopardising our children’s education.

Management has threatened massive cutbacks, which means many lecturers will be made redundant. Management has refused to engage in meaningful negotiations with staff - who have been on strike for 12 weeks now - and students have not received their grades from their teachers - some can’t graduate. As a growing group of parents, we are calling on management to resolve this crisis as soon as possible.

Part of a short presentation I did for @goldsmithspsych as part of my ongoing research in to occupational wellbeing in the UK film & TV industry.

I am deep in to the analysis phase of my current doctoral study involving a diverse range of interviews with peers across the industry investigating their experiences of working in our highly stressful but rewarding industry. This is to help build a greater scientific understanding in the field of psychology and grounding for my future research.

NEW BLOG + FILM OUT NOW 🎥🔥

This year’s #16DaysofActivism calls for urgent action #ForAllWomenAndGirls.

Goldsmith engages in collaborative scholarly work with academics from City University, the University of Bristol, and Leeds Beckett University to releas a powerful new animation exposing the silence around ‘Honour’-Based Abuse (HBA) - using storytelling to reveal hard truths and uplift survivor voices. @womenresearchhub @goldsmithspsych

These issues are core to our MA in Understanding Domestic Violence & Sexual Abuse at Goldsmiths, where we push for real change through research, creativity and critical practice.

🛑 Many students still don't know about the staff redundancies or the restructure!

📧 Senior management's communication with student has been woefully inadequate.

🤫 They did not tell all departments about the cuts. They want you to think that if your department doesn't have redundancies, then you are not affected.

🤥 This is a lie! Departments are being combined into "subject areas." For example @gold.computing and @goldsmithspsych are due to be combined.

💷 Consider, 31% staff redundancies in Psychology, plus a combining of funding and resources, compounded by a reduction in economic agency for both.

🗣 I am calling on all departments, courses, modules, and projects to speak up about the TP, to investigate how it will affect you (because it will!), and to SPREAD THE WORD.

🗳 Remember, if you have no confidence, then VOTE YES on Tuesday.

#goldsmithsuniversity #binthetp 🧻 #highereducationmatters #goldsmithsuniversityoflondon #goldsmithsstudents Black and purple text on a yellow background. Text says: "Why vote yes? What is the Transformation Programme?" There is a graphic of a hand putting a piece of paper in a polling box. A purple arrow points to the right.

I can’t believe I’m saying this -
The research study for my dissertation is live, and here’s why you should participate!

⭐️ It can only be done on a smartphone (and you’re already scrolling on instagram anyway🤷‍♀️)

⭐️ The study only takes around 15-20 minutes to complete

⭐️ You could win a $100 Amazon gift card

⭐️ You’ll be contributing to the growing field of neuroaesthetics (which I happen to think is pretty cool)

⭐️ You’ll also be supporting women in STEM

Link in bio OR screenshot the second slide to open the QR code!

Thank you in advance from the bottom of a sleep-deprived, over-caffeinated grad student’s heart 💛
