I’ve been teaching this lateral movement my entire teaching career. I lived with Bruce Lietzke at the University of Houston. Bruce moved to the right before he took the club away. Later, he was the best driver on the PGA TOUR. I played with a lot of great players and I studied hard. There’s no way I was teaching a centered head, and centered turn because it just does not happen in top players. There is lateral motion in a full back swing. “X FACTOR II” is coming out in November—you can read much more about Loading, Unloading, and Exploding! @jimmcleanbiltmore @golfdigest @thebiltmoremiami @jontmclean @golfbygrayson @keeganbradley1 @russhenleygolf @lexi @cristiekerr @gary.woodland @lenmattiace @lucyli_golf @scarlettschremmer @jimmcleangolfschool_kr @jimmclean5iron @jimmcleanmayakoba @ecggolf @jimmcleanmbgc @gregnormancollection @footjoy @titleist @vokeywedges @trackmangolf @smart2move @athletic_motion_golf @golfprogiff @chriscomogolf @thedewsweeper @josephkgolf @blackburngolf @bryanlebedevitch @jcarbonepga @jeff.warne85 @jonsinclairgolf @brianmanzella #1golfschool #golf #golflessons #golf.com #xfactor

Starting down. Thumb and forefinger off the club. This is a Ben Hogan practice idea he used. Jack Nicklaus might have been the best driver in the history of golf—besides everything else. He returned the shaft straight up and down with no forward lean. @jimmcleanbiltmore @jimmcleanmbgc @josephkgolf @jontmclean @golfbygrayson #1golfschool #golf #xfactor #buildyourswingbook #houstondynastybook @uhcougarmgolf

Congratulations Scarlett. Jon McLean and I made some very significant changes for Scarlett this past spring at the golf school. The most important thing I did for Scarlett was to develop a plan, especially how she practiced. I did make adjustments to her swing, getting the pitch of her swing steeper and how to hit a fade at all trajectories. I was able to tell her about how Cristie Kerr, Lexi Thompson, Liselotte Neumann, Laurie Merten (all major champions I worked consistently with— practiced and played. Jon and I made a big change to her putting. Jon developed the practice plan and training aid. Scarlett is the perfect student. She works very hard and she does the work. Her Mom is a tremendous player and she did a fantastic job with Scarlett. It’s been fun! @scarlettschremmer @jontmclean @thebiltmoremiami @jimmcleanbiltmore @golfbygrayson #golf #1golfschool #golflessons

What are the skill sets? Practicing a flat lead wrist. Low and high chip shots. The 4 types of bunker shots. Wedge distance control. Pre-shot routine. Movement before the shot. Flop shots. Driving skills. Hybrids. The iron set up. Visual techniques. And the famous grind sessions we do each day for golf movements.
Of course we do a ton of private instruction, clinics and junior golf. I invite you to visit us a the Biltmore hotel in Coral Gables or my school on Miami Beach—or schools in Utah, Madrid, South Korea, or Cancun Mexico. @thebiltmoremiami @jimmcleanbiltmore @miamibeachgolfclub @jimmcleanmbgc #golf @titleist @footjoy @smart2move @trackmangolf @foresightsports @golfbygrayson @ecggolf @gmfenterprise @jontmclean @robertanevesgolf @elisaserramia @nottoorusty @alexfernandezgolf @christianginman @echeniquerafa @julionutt #1golfschool #thejmfamousgrind @jimmcleanmayakoba @jimmcleangolfschool_kr @redledgesclub @santander_es

I wrote about the shallowing of the shaft in the Eight Swing Book (published in 1994) I wrote it formed the letter X. It was an interesting idea within the book. Almost every modern tour player shallows the shaft and most never think about— because if you start your downswing with your feet and legs, the club shaft responds to the lower body leading downswing. And in teaching we want this shallowing to be just right. Not too much and not too little. @thebiltmoremiami @titleist @jimmcleanbiltmore @jimmclean5iron @jontmclean @trackmangolf @smart2move @golfbygrayson @gregnormancollection @jonhornergolf #1golfschool #golf #xfactor #xfactorii #jimmclean
