The power of siblings. ❤️

Growing up, I didn’t just have a big brother. I had a hero. Someone I looked up to, someone I admired, and someone I wanted to be just like.

If my brother did it, I wanted to do it too. I followed in his footsteps every chance I got, and looking back, I realize just how much he shaped the person I would become.

What started as a little sister trying to keep up with her big brother turned into a pretty incredible journey.

We both fell in love with golf. ⛳️

We both became golf professionals.

We both found our passion for teaching and helping others.

And now, we’ve both built families of our own and get to share the game we love with the next generation.

But here’s where it gets really special. 🥹

My two kids have the same age gap that my brother and I had growing up. And now I get a front-row seat to watch it all happen again.

I see the way my daughter looks up to her big brother. How she wants to do everything he does. How she watches him, copies him, and thinks he’s the coolest person in the world.

And I realize… that was me. ❤️

It’s amazing how much influence a sibling can have on the direction of your life without either of you even realizing it.

My brother probably never knew just how closely I was watching. But his footsteps helped create my path.

And now I get to watch my children begin their own journey together.

Sometimes our greatest role models are the ones growing up right beside us. ❤️

“The body creates the ground forces.”

I want to expand upon what James shared… he can correct me if I’m wrong of course

While I believe ground reaction forces do help to move the body and the club throughout the swing… they are called “reaction” forces for a reason

The “body” includes the golf club (kinetics) as well when we discuss the swinging of the club and how the body and club’s positions throughout the swing and their club’s position relative to our body (Global COM) ultimately affect how the Global COM allows the feet to perform an (act)ion upon the ground before the ground re(acts) given the golfer’s coordination, stability, and strength within his or her’s lower extremities

Parts of the body can move (and they can move the club) to create the swing without having to rely 100% on the ground’s assistance to create the desired speed and solid contact that every golfer is in search of
