We’ve been busy all summer. Swipe through for a taste of what we’ve been cooking on stage, in the studio, and at the pressing plant 👀

We’re working hard to get new singles out asap. Might have to drop some HQ live bootlegs from the Merger era before our next chapter begins ❤️‍🔥

Our second vinyl pressing has been a big success. So much so that we are having night terrors about shipping logistics. Grab a copy while we’ve still got some left 😘

Donald Fagen admitted, “’Deacon Blues’ is about as close to autobiography as you can get,” reflecting the naiveté of someone drawn to a lifestyle they don’t fully grasp.

A bit of Saturday morning Steely Dan for you. I know you didn’t ask, but hey. The unmistakable @bernardprettypurdie on drums, Chuck Rainey on bass, Larry Carlton on guitar and a superb solo by the late, great Walter Becker himself.

Apparently Donald Fagen spent four whole days punching in the ‘Well, the…’ vocal at the chorus. Haha , we love you for it, Don.

This is take 28 (well, what else is there to do on Saturday morning?) and about as good as it’ll get for the moment.

Helluva band on this album, the Royal Scam, with this song, the Caves of Altamira, featuring brilliant tenor saxophone by John Klemmer, drums by legendary @bernardprettypurdie, bass by the great Chuck Rainey, guitar by @larrycarlton335 and percussion by Victor Feldman. Sorry for mangling it, gentlemen.

I must’ve tried 50 takes, and this is about as close as it’s gonna get.

Despite the sessions for Gaucho - the album - being their most difficult, fraught with technical challenges, personal tragedy and the loss of a completed song, they still delivered some of Steely Dan’s most arresting music, including this title track. Possibly their most beautiful song/ arrangement. Hat tip to Keith Jarrett, of course.
