Lately life has been reminding me over and over that I’m closer to 40 than I am to 30 which means I’m closer to 50 than I’ll ever be to 20 again. I have aches and pains daily but whatever. I’ve found maybe 5 but definitely less than 10 gray hairs on my head this year and more are probably on their way. I’m starting to see fine lines on my face and my sister referred to my sun spots as “liver spots” and I’ve just not been the same since 🤣 My arm skin looks weird or maybe it’s just me. Annnnddd my babies… oh my babies! I have a junior in high school which reminds me that I too was a junior once … 20 years ago 🤯 and my “baby” is 10 😱

The other day Bella was talking about her kid pictures (as she was having an age related crisis of her own) and said “I don’t know how else to say it but that’s me! I am that girl, not was. I’m still that person and I never wasn’t her. I’ll always be her!” WHAAATTT? 😳😭

Anywho, @goodolejaybird and I are driving, I’m cuing all my high school jams and I ask “who even was I?” Lol it finally clocked to me … I’ve never not been me.

Anyway, I got a compliment on my hair this day and he got a compliment on his shirt. I still get carded and sometimes THE girl’s girls tell me I look pretty 🥹 and that I don’t look my age (whatever that means because I didn’t think I was that old to begin with which then makes me feel old lol) so all that to say F#ck getting old but also getting old is ok because it’s a privilege denied to many.

I’m just ADD rambling at 3am. I hope everyone is loving life, aging gracefully, exercising, drinking water and remembering to wear sunscreen

Also, everyone listen to “Everybody’s free” - Baz Luhrmann …. You’re welcome !

Adulting with no kids was unnecessarily fast and furious. 1st stop was to Starbucks for pumpkin spice name-a-thing, then to HomeGoods where we made a Fall haul 🤎🧡💛. Off to several other places where we didn’t really find anything we were prepared to find anyway …. Kirklands, Michaels and bath and body works for all the smells because who doesn’t like good smells ?! Amirite??? Lunch at Terry Blacks for some buss BBQ (which we regretted later 😅), Crumbl for a special request and the Beetle Juice cookie and lastly to HEB for groceries. All of that in 4 hours and back in time for school pickup. Anxiety was 📈

@jamesmavman was super cool about it 🤙 thankful he’s so patient and willing to do stuff however unnecessary it may be. The potential for an adventure is always there 🫶

Although it is not officially autumn, there is a subtle yet notable decrease in temperature. Uncharacteristically, @jamesmavman agreed to sprinkle a little bit of autumn in his home (no pressure from Bella, of course 😉) it’s so cozy and inviting! We’ve got a few more things to do but all in all it is VERY DEMURE, VERY MINDFUL! 🫶😅 We are counting down the days until we can shed this filthy summer skin (unpopular opinion: I hate Texas summers & probably Texas too 🤫)<— *word vomit*

Beach trip with all my favorite people 🩶
We all made the ultimate beach playlist that became the soundtrack of our trip 🎵🤟 (the kind of sh!t you only wish Spotify could create)
One day we stayed out on the beach for 5 hours straight 🏖️☀️
Good food, great cawfee ☕️, lots of laughs, naps, walks on the beach, late nights, early mornings, run on the beach, aquarium, more food, more music, more laughs, sun kisses, kissy kisses 💋, more CAWFEE and the best memories
