4 years of yearningforus 💌 can't believe it's been 4 years since i made the beer decision ever !!! to starting off with a moody aesthetic and only posting "aesthetic" pictures, to slowly starting to post my honest reviews, to sharing more of my life in my maaaaaany photo dumps, to not posting anything last year due to being busy with work and taking time off social media, to now feeling refreshed and wanting to post again. cannot thank you enough for sticking with me while i discovered what i truly wanted to do with this account. to my snirlies, i love you so much and i cannot wait to see what random convos we have this year and to those that have been with me with the start, thank you truly. here's to a fun and whimsical 2026 !!!

the ex vows by jessica joyce ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️/5 “but i knew you’d come back to me” 💫💘🍷🪩 okay i am back with a book review after what feels like ages! the first line of the prologue had me immediately knowing that this book would wreck my poor little heart. the banter. the yearning. the passion. the flashbacks!! i could feel the love through this book i swear. georgia & eli! people pleaser girlie and the quiet anxious boy, my god i was enraptured. the absolute perfect encapsulation of romantic angst, storytelling, dialogue, etc i simply had to keep turning the page. it’s been a while since i’ve read a romance like this where i still can’t stop thinking about it. i really loved the flashbacks and how they definitely added to how georgia was feeling in real life. i wish it was dual pov, cause could you IMAGINE??? anyways i’m obsessed and you’re just gonna have to read this to see why ;) and also, lo and behold, what do i discover?? THE PAPER RINGS. no spoilers but i legit had tears streaming down my face. not kidding. if i am ever so lucky to find my best friend and love of my life, i hope it’s something like georgia & eli’s love, one that truly withstands the test of time and all that life throws at you. ❤️‍🩹❤️‍🩹 • • • • • • • • • • • #theexvows #theexvowsjessicajoyce #romace #romancereads #reader #bookstagram #booksbooksbooks #bookstack #bookstagrammer #goodreads #aestheticreads #bookishpost #exvows #romancenovel #readmorebooks #readromance

Katabasis by R.F. Kuang @kuangrf release date: August 26th ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ this was my very first RF Kuang book (i know im behind in the hype) and it did not disappoint! this book was magnificent! Yes, it’s highly intellectual but not in a way that makes me feel dumb or less-than. The story almost teaches you what you need to know as it progresses. These characters, Alice and Peter, are geniuses and they know it. Sometimes their intellect can cause them to be a bit too prideful and arrogant, but wouldn’t you act the same if everyone kept telling you how incredibly brilliant you are? They are such complex characters, and the more I dove into their story, the more I understood them. Their thinking can be so toxic and harmful, but the further you get into the story, the more insight you get into why they act the way they do. I wanted to rage against the world with them and lay down and cry with them. That’s how vivid their emotions and actions were. Yes, there is romance in this book. And some may say not to worry and that’s its only subplot, but I disagree. I’d argue that the romance is borderline THE plot. The romance doesn’t function in the way that most of us would be familiar with. It isn’t soft and sweet. It’s gritty and difficult and painful. It slowly creeps up on you in between the pages of a hellish landscape (literally). Alice and Peter’s love for each other, although they don’t recognize it as love right away, is a driving force for them. They are constantly combating their intellectual nature with a romantic one. Do they choose the path that’s “smartest” or make the decision based on feeling. No, this book is not a romance novel but that doesn’t mean romance as a plot point isn’t integral to the structure of this story. There is so much more I could talk about but I’ll leave it here! full review is in my Goodreads! thank you to @goodreadswithlex for being such an amazing friend as to send me their extra ARC if this book! and for being such a fun reading buddy through the whole journey! I can’t wait to explore Kuang’s other books! Which one should i prioritize next? 🫶🏼

Wild Reverence Review! ♾️⭐️ I have been a huge fan of Rebecca Ross since I received A River Enchanted as my Book of the Month pick back in January 2022 (still a favorite today I must add). She is the most brilliant storyteller, carefully weaving the most intricate fantasies with themes of love, grief, family, and discovering one’s own path. Wild Reverence is a prequel to the Letters of Enchantment duology set hundreds of years before the events of Divine Rivals. While the duology is a YA series, Wild Reverence offers readers a more mature approach to this world as an Adult standalone fantasy. I truly have never read a book like this. Ross has such an incredible ability to craft stories that are uniquely magical and deep and she surprises me every time. This book was simply marvelous, an absolute triumph of love and loss. Of vulnerability and strength. Of knowing and unknowing the ways of our world and how we fit into it. Once again, Ross shows us that to be loved is to be known. Matilda and Vincent’s story is truly a tale for the ages and completing this book is so bittersweet. I never wanted it to end, but all great stories must come to and end eventually. Rebecca, you are absolutely brilliant. A shining star among writers and I’m thrilled that I get to exist at the same time as such incredible works of art. I cannot wait for this book to officially release so I can annotate my own copy. thank you to Netgalley for opening this up to read for a brief time and thank you to my wonderful friend @goodreadswithlex for letting me know it was available to read (and reading it with me) otherwise I would’ve missed it. While we all patiently (or not) wait for Wild Reverence, let’s be sure to show some love to Rebecca’s other books! @beccajross is my favorite fantasy author and her Elements of Cadence duology is unlike anything i’ve ever read. She also has some incredible standalone books that deserve just as much love and attention that the Letters of Enchantment duology received! Be sure to check out my full review on goodreads, my account is linked in my bio!

funny story by @emilyhenrywrites ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️/5 em hen books have the tendency to be written in such a way that i can physically feel the character’s feelings (anxiety, panic, anguish, love) as a pit in my stomach. i finished this in probably 4 hours. whew. daphne vincent. let’s just say i get it. the spiraling, second-guessing, never really believing you’re enough. i get that. and wow was it a scary feeling reading this book and immediately feeling like i related to her. miles norwak. he crept up on me DAYUM! absolutely just sunshine as a person. i was just in awe of how he is just so kind and lighthearted and passionate! i missed the feeling of a GOOD romance book that checks all the boxes for me. em hen always delivers. she ties in the romance while also not forgetting that we are human. and we have trauma, tendencies, and anxieties that can hold us back and be debilitating. but with that comes a chance for growth and change and the hope that something beautiful will come into your life that will prove to you that you are worth everything and more that you deserve. and that’s something so special to read <3

a spoiler free review of Sunrise on the Reaping (finally) ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Suzanne Collins is an absolute mastermind. The way she has meticulously crafted such an intensely vivid world is positively mind blowing. Everything from Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes all the way through the trilogy perfectly connects. Every single bit of information and symbolism is beyond comprehension. We all knew a little about Haymitch’s games and we knew that if he was the victor, no one else survives. And that is what makes this book so interesting. It’s not about “how Haymitch won the games,” but about how he never “won” at all. I am completely in awe of Suzanne’s writing once again. I’ve been with this story for so many years and each time I revisit it, there is a new message to discover and understand. As much as I am interested to see what another book would look like and what it could add to this world, I’d be satisfied with ending on this one. “The snow may fall, but the sun also rises” and I’m happy to know that for these beloved characters, the sun will also rise on peaceful days for them forever. also shoutout to @thecommonroomshop which is where i got this amazing sweatshirt. i saw it and knew i needed it. it’s so amazing and cozy and a great subtle book merch!
