A little reminder to check the thrift store first 🤎♻️

If you know me, you know almost all of my outfits are thrifted, and yes… that includes my uni merch for everyone who’s always asking where I find it 😂

With Miss Earth coming up, I’m excited to share one of my favourite ways to make more sustainable choices while highlighting another reason to support Goodwill: their commitment to inclusive employment and creating meaningful work opportunities for people with disabilities. 🤍

Thrifting gives clothes a second life, keeps pieces in circulation, and lets us find unique pieces while supporting a more inclusive community.

Maybe it is a toxic trait, or maybe it is just refusing to settle until a space feels right.

We bought the first mirror off Marketplace, convinced it was going to be the one. But the entire time it was hanging on that wall, something just felt off. Fast forward to stumbling across this second find at @goodwill_ab, and suddenly everything clicked.

It is wild how swapping out one single piece can completely shift the energy of a room.

Be honest in the comments: did I make the right call, or did you like the Marketplace one better?

Nine of our favourite @goodwill_ab finds that made the Velvet Vault what it is! #sponsored

Thrifting isn't just something we do, it's how we design. Almost all of the home decor in the Velvet Vault, our new speakeasy-style B&B, is thrifted from Goodwill, and we wouldn't have it any other way.

There's nothing like the hunt for a one-of-a-kind piece with a story behind it. Every corner of this space has something with a past life, and that's exactly what makes it feel like ours!

What is your favourite thing you've ever thrifted?

Happy Canadian Thanksgiving! Here are some details of my fall Thanksgiving tablescape and 99% of it is thrifted. I absolutely love this table runner with the beautiful fall pears and figs and fall leaves from @goodwill_ab , it was the starting point for my inspiration. I used thrifted silver and porcelain serve-ware I found over the years and they all match so well together. I used my dried hydrangeas from my garden and I loved the fall tones. I thrifted these green duralex glasses from @findyeg as well as these stunning fleur de lis napkin rings. I loved mixing different metals, different textures and layers. Thankful to share a meal with my family and to be able to set up a space for beautiful memories to be made #yegthrift #interiordesign #thriftfinds #thanksgiving #tablescapes

I thrifted these beautiful Portmeirion Botanic Garden dinnerware pieces @goodwill_ab and I love all their details. I have 4 small bowls and 1 large dinner plate and they will make any tablescape colourful and special #yegthrift #interiordesign #goodwillfinds #thriftfinds #portmeirion
