DAY 2/6: Faking a $100,000 Fall 2026 runway wardrobe for under $200. 🤫💸

Today we are taking down Chanel who wants over $30k for this look.

The secret the fashion industry won’t tell you? You aren’t paying for the fabric and construction - you’re paying for the label.

Rushing this cosplay before NYCC 💀 Andrew made the head so I didn’t have to worry about that lol.

The faux leather for the gloves, sleeves, shorts, and top I harvested from two XL skirts from @goodwillnj !
Covered the top in black cordage glued with Fabri-tac. Used red fair lights and weaved that through the cordage and covered with stuffing to look like smoke.
Neck piece is EVA foam, wood glue, paint and rub-n-buff.
Dynamite belt is foam tubes, heated with head gun to shape, painted, sealed with mod podge.

And I put a small smoke machine in the head.

Today I donated over 100 copies of my psychological thriller, Measured Steps: The Claire Morrison Files at two Goodwill locations in Ocean County.

Goodwill Brick: 451 Brick Boulevard, Brick, NJ
Goodwill Bayville: 333 Route 9, Bayville, NJ

I signed a few copies and left them on the shelves for some lucky shoppers to find. A big thank you to Hannah and Kellie at the Brick store for being so welcoming, and to the manager at Bayville for helping me get everything sorted.

If you’re out thrift shopping at either location, keep your eyes open. You might just find a signed copy waiting for you. 😊
