Safely removing child locks from wooden furniture without damaging the surface using basic tools:

-Blow dry on high heat to soften adhesive
-Rotate plastic card underneath to gently pry the latch loose (avoid using anything metal so you don’t scratch the finish)
-Apply Goo Gone to the remaining adhesive with a clean cloth, allowing it to soak
-Use plastic card to scrape
-Additional application of Goo Gone and wipe clean

If you’re tired of the pain, pulling hair, and feeling like you’re taking half your skin with your devices… THIS IS YOUR SIGN!

We’ve been using Goo Gone to help remove Arya’s diabetes devices for as long as I can remember, and it makes SUCH a difference!

*Make sure it’s the bandage and adhesive remover*

Here’s how we do it:
✨ Spray the adhesive around the sites until it’s thoroughly soaked.
⏱️ Let it sit for about 5 minutes.
🙌🏼 Gently lift the edges and let the adhesive release instead of pulling it straight off!

And VOILÀ! 🤯 The devices slide right off with SO much less pulling and tugging!

If you’re a T1D parent, you KNOW how hard site changes can be, especially when your little one already struggles with pain or sensitive skin. Anything that makes this process a little easier is a WIN in our house!

Save this for your next site change and share it with a T1D parent who needs an easier removal routine! ❤️👇🏼

A rainy fall day spent doing the unglamorous but necessary part of running a curated shop.

Measure. Clean. List. Repeat.

Now for the best part: getting these treasures listed and into their next homes.

Caulking is one of those tasks that can make or break a project. It's usually one of the final steps in finishing. If you don't select the right caulk and/or apply it correctly, then you will probably find yourself doing it again in the not-so-distant future.

Equipment used:

-@homedepot GE Supreme Silicone 10.1 oz Kitchen and Bath Sealant in Clear
-@homedepot Caulk gun
-@workpro_tools Utility knife
-@harborfreight Quinn extendable razor scraper
-@harborfreight Frog tape
-@harborfreight Hook and pick tool
-@googone Adhesive remover
-Paper towels
-Shop Vac

*Dave's Take:

Silicone is not as easy to caulk as acrylic latex is, in my opinion. Don't feel like using tape is an amateur move. If it delivers a professional result, then do it. Anyone who has cleaned up a terrible initial caulking job will probably tell you that he/she does not regret spending the extra time to ensure caulk doesn't get everywhere, which will lengthen the duration of the project anyways when you have to clean up. Do it right the first time.

No-drill products are great until you’re left with stubborn adhesive residue you can’t get off.

I had these old sticky spots in my kitchen sink from previous sponge holders for way too long, and nothing I tried had completely removed them. So after seeing Goo Gone recommended so many times, I finally tried it myself.

Most of the adhesive residue came off pretty easily, while the more stubborn pieces needed a little extra work. After cleaning the sink thoroughly afterwards, I was genuinely impressed with the result. This is one of those home products I’ll be keeping around for the next sticky mess.

If you’ve been looking for an adhesive remover for leftover stickers, labels or adhesive organizers, this one is worth knowing about. I’ve added the Goo Gone I used to my Amazon storefront.

📌 Save this for the next time you’re dealing with stubborn adhesive residue, or send it to someone who might need it.

👉 Follow for realistic home organization, simple home management, product finds and solutions that make your home easier to manage.

Let’s remove those old pump sites a little easier!

Our trick? Goo Gone!

Spray the old site until the adhesive is completely saturated, let it sit for 3–5 minutes, and then gently remove it. When the adhesive has had time to break down, it comes off SO much easier and without all that painful pulling! 🙌🏼

⚠️ BUT… learn from Dad on this one 😂
As you’ll see, he didn’t saturate all of the adhesive before removing it, so some of it was still sticky… and Arya makes that known.

The key is making sure ALL of the adhesive is saturated and giving it those few minutes to work BEFORE you remove it.

One less painful part of site change day = WIN. 🥳
