🦪🥬Fall Textiles Collection- all my work in one room!!🎀🎂 CAD in Textiles, Machine Knitting, Fibres and Dyeing My first semester in textiles and this is what I made and learned! My collection is inspired by the comforts of home, childhood bedrooms, nostalgia, and growing up. 🐣 On the left is all my work from CAD, where I made patterns using stamps and still life drawings scanning them on adobe photoshop, pulling imagery and inspiration from my mood board. 🌸🌺 I loved making pattern collections and repeat patterns. Then we move onto all my knit swatches for each week - I made 3-5 swatches each week based on the new techniques I learned. The knitting machine took up a lot of my time this semester, it really worked me hard. 🤓😅 In Fibres and Dyeing, we learned fibre identification, spinning on the drop spindle and on the spinning wheel! I worked with protein, plant and synthetic fibres. 🐑Towards the end, I made my own dyeing techniques and experiments for my knitting final with wool. Everything on the coat is hand dyed - the yarn was white to start with! 🎨 I had a lot of fun this semester and it’s crazy to fill up an entire room with my work. 😮😊 Thank you to the amazing @gormxart for modelling and @simifadelart for setting up! 🩷
