Wanderland is here. It’s a journal of slow travel, creative practice, and the art of noticing, made by four creatives who each bring our own lens, shaped by the lives we’ve lived and the things we can’t help but notice. Same place, four ways of seeing it. Our first issue began in the Cotswolds. We walked the same lanes and sat at the same tables, and when we put what we each found side by side, we saw more than any of us had on our own. The result is part travel book, part watercolor tutorial, part cookbook, and all together a love letter to paying attention, with every sense, to the beauty that’s been there all along. Copies start shipping soon, and you can still reserve yours at our pre-order price for a little while longer. Both links are in my bio: one to reserve your copy, and one to my newsletter if you’d like to read more about Wanderland. If you’re in the Seattle area, come celebrate the launch of Wanderland and @themintgardener’s new collection with @glassybaby at their Bellevue location this Friday, October 23, from 5 to 8 PM. I’ll be serving tartiflette (using beautiful produce from @jubilee_farm ), which is all melty cheese and potatoes and exactly what a cold October night calls for. We’d love to see you there. So many amazing vendors and creatives will be there!! @glassybabybellevue @themintgardener @wanderland_way @studiolifeseattle @ashrod @trophycupcakes @hemleva @lsstudioseattle @janpliler @jubilee_farm @casablancafloral @italysantangelus @the_na_sommelier @schedlerphoto @gorrrbb #Wanderland #SlowTravel #ArtOfNoticing #GlassyBaby

Wanderland has officially launched!! 🎉🎉🎉 What is it, exactly? We’ve asked ourselves that very question. Is it a book? A journal? A travel journal? The honest answer is that it refuses to be just one thing, and that is exactly the point. Wanderland is a large-format print journal built from weeks spent in and around The Cotswolds, organized into three sections: Wander, Create, and Nourish. It carries travel writing the way a journal does. It teaches watercolor the way an art instruction book does. It cooks the way a cookbook does. No single shelf holds all three of those at once. No one had combined all of this, art tutorials, recipe tutorials, travel writing, and more, inside one object before; unable to find a category to belong to, we built our own instead. And the printed pages are only where it starts. Turn to the last page and you will find a QR code that keeps you wandering. On our dedicated site you’ll find full video tutorials with Sarah, walk-throughs of Ashley’s recipes, travel notes that never made it to print, and the playlist we built driving those narrow Cotswolds lanes. It is also where we will announce what comes next: the workshops, retreats, and in-person gatherings where you can paint alongside @themintgardener and sit down to a meal @ashrod cooked herself. Our inspiration could not all be contained in these pages, and we made a space to keep sharing it. Wanderland is not a souvenir of a trip we took without you. It is an invitation to keep wandering with us, long after you have turned the last page. Many of these beautiful moments were captured by @schedlerphoto and @gorrrbb. This self-published book has been a labor of love and we are delighted to share it with you! Pre-order your copy now until October 15💕 link to order in profile

Wanderland: The Cotswolds. Limited Print Pre-Order, available right now. ______ Wanderland. Born from an art retreat in the English Cotswolds. Three weeks of wandering, fully immersed in painting, cooking, and paying close attention to one of the most beautiful places on earth, in the company of four friends who couldn’t bear to leave it all behind. This unique journal is born of creators with complimentary gifts. A watercolor artist with a sketchbook full of sloe berries and honey-colored stone. A James Beard nominated food writer with an eye for what the golden season in England actually tastes like. And two women who navigate popped tires, opposite-side-of-the-road driving, and the beautiful chaos of international travel with such warmth and grace that everyone in their care feels completely free to simply wander, create, and fall in love with the place.  This (brand new!) limited edition of “Wanderland: The Cotswolds” is a retreat for all of your senses, all within a luxurious book, printed locally by a women-run print shop in Seattle, WA. A wayfaring you can enter from your own kitchen table, your favorite chair, the nook of a book shop where the light is just right. We made Wanderland because the Cotswolds gave us something too beautiful to keep to ourselves, and because we believe, with our whole hearts, that beauty gathered with intention is always worth sharing.  Come wander The Cotswolds with us.  ______ What is Wanderland? August, I’m so grateful. From Orcas to France then Latvia and Lithuania then home again. We welcomed a new pup and said goodbye to the boys. 😭 One of the greatest gifts I’ve experienced in adulthood is learning how to hold many emotions at one time. August tested that to the fullest and I’m filled with gratitude and joy, sorrow and hope. All of it and then some. Welcome, September!

A celebration of soft strength and conversations that hold both tears and joy, and a few hours to savor the liminal wonderfulness of beautiful moments. Ashley @ashrod and I wanted to create something beautiful to honor this in-between season, while we wait for the earth to awaken and laugh in flowers… we thought we’d share the warmth of the greenhouse with some of our favorite friends, and help coax the earth out of her winter shell with a fantastical dinner…and an excuse to dress like fairy goddesses of course! March in Seattle is a study in contradictions: birdsong after furious storms and daffodils pushing through muddy patches of earth. This season is tulle dresses layered with woolly jumpers, longer days whispering of warmth to come. A time when we are ready to embrace the bright and new, and finally emerge from our cocoon of hibernation and muddy rain boots. It was a beautiful evening that celebrated the balance of the feminine in a community of divine women that know and celebrate that we are ALL in the process of BECOMING…🙌 This evening, like all gatherings, took an incredible community effort of love and hope and trust. @ashrod and I are SO thankful for the following who believed in this vision and helped us sprinkle pixie dust over the hours together: @gorrrbb @antherafloral @holcomb.studio @meema.co @burchsupplycompany @westlandseattle @kingsanddaughters @slice.pr @filson1897

Art joy ✨ Do you ever have that feeling of being completely frozen, and when you look at your to-do’s, the list is just so long that all you can do is stare at it? That has felt like January for me. Making a note here, because I think that is every January for me. And I’ve found that if I feel like this, there’s usually an entire choir of dear friends feeling the same, so if that’s you, I feel you. So here I am, trying to find a groove where I can just take the next best step. Currently answering emails, and seeking any sun spots to curl up in and work, and conveniently, there’s one running across my bedroom, so when I add some fluffy covers and lean into that winter sunshine, it feels cozy. I have *so many* incredible, delightful photos from our most recent #acreativewayartretreats trip to England, so many in fact, that I am also feeling frozen in how and what to share. So here are a few that have sparked joy today. I hope the adventure and art and beautiful smiling artists (HI FRIENDS🤩) and incredible architecture brings you a smile for a moment here today too. @studiolifeseattle @ashrod @intothegardenigrow @brookeandersonud @kimpar76 @hausapril17 @running_cake_cats @jackiejones630 @jenenec @moving_with_simplicity @jtmosby @ritacaturanoart @ritacaturano @jamiehonerlawstudio @jamiehonerlaw @kimberlyluyckxart @corritotosquito @schedlerphoto @gorrrbb @missybriggs @megpoort @sandra_roy63 @myartshare @facegirl7 @anacarovelez @gloria.anderson.art @stonegroundpaintco @princetonbrush
