Petrichor and sage 👃

The moment after the sky breaks open in the Sierra Nevada, when the dust settles and the desert finally exhales.

That smell isn’t rain. It’s sagebrush, wet granite, and ozone. You can’t bottle it. You have to drive until you’re in it.

4th of July Weekend Ranger Update Day 1

Patrolled Monache today, Good news: most folks out there were behaving and being respectful 🤝

Found a few camps with trash + human waste 💩 issues. Please pack it out — poo included.!

And yes, somehow there was a Buick way out there 😅

Reminder: Inyo National Forest is under Stage 1 Fire Restrictions 🔥 No campfires outside developed campgrounds. No smoking unless in a vehicle, building, or 3ft cleared area.

Leave it better than you found it.

Benefits of my job:

• Free mountain air
• Wildflower coworkers 🌸
• 360° conference room
• UTV company car

I love my job!

Yes the road is overgrown and the creek has taken over. Purpose of today’s trip was to asses current conditions so a partner organization can’t start making repairs this summer. 💪 👏 🚧

Big day of picking up mylar balloons!

How many do you find in a day while out exploring?

I have a helmet on that’s why my voice is muffled 😜

San Ignacio to San Juanico.

After midnight. 🌕

Dirt, silt beds, lots of rocks and questionable decisions.

But we made it!

Too early for Christmas music?

Nice little sleigh ride out in the valley of death.

Just going places and leaving memories behind. Been spending a lot of time on dirt during this exciting furlough.

Where should I go next?

What do you listen to while you are out exploring?

My music taste is wide and broad but definitely not listening to TSwift 😂

Just had to use this audio….

I’m making the most of my furlough. I was down in Laughlin for some desert racing. Then to Needles for the Rebelle Rally finish. Then headed over to Sedona, Phoenix, Flagstaff, St. George and back into Nevada. Putting some miles in and enjoying every minute on the road.

More to come from my adventures.

Where should I go next?
