POSTS STORIES REELS TAGGED

.
The Fine Art Team at Middlesex University invites you to the Private View of
A Shrine for What We Tend,
the Postgraduate Degree Show bringing together the work of JMES (Jamie Edler), Shazia Ahmad and Simone Hill.

Private View: Thursday, 3 September, 5-8pm
The Grove Building, G301
Floor 3, The Burroughs
London NW4 4AX

The exhibition will then be open
4-9 September, 11am-5pm daily.

Three distinct practices explore how stories, memories, materials and images are inherited, tended and transformed through acts of attention and care. Across painting, film, textiles, drawing, sculpture, writing and installation, the works move between the personal and collective, the devotional and everyday, and the inherited and imagined. Tending becomes an active process of returning, repairing, questioning, celebrating, misremembering and remaking, asking how meaning shifts through what we hold, reshape and pass on.

works across textiles, print, drawing, writing and object-making, bringing mythology and folklore into contact with queer and domestic life.

.
The works in A Shrine for What We Tend treat inherited stories as living material: things to be handled, embellished, misremembered and retold. Through carbon monoprints, stitched textiles and objects carrying the traces of touch and labour, gods, beasts and folkloric figures are drawn into moments of intimacy, humour and desire.

.
Rather than illustrating mythology as something fixed, the works imagine it continuing to gather new histories through the people who inherit it.

Expressions of PAINt; an artistic approach to pain mapping.

The aim of this project is to communicate pain using colour, mark-making, and mapping to show pain's location, type and intensity. Drawing from art therapy and medical backgrounds, this arts-based project aims to bridge the gap in communication.

.
When we are in pain, it can be difficult to communicate that pain, where it is and what it is doing. There are also those with challenges such as neurodivergence, non-verbal communication, and tho

And that’s a wrap on @justrightirl 🎉

Had a crazy idea that I wanted to connect people in the creator scene and make a safe space for people to ask questions and network. I really hope everyone who attended learnt something, met someone new and got the motivation to better themselves.

Wanna say a massive thank you to all the people who helped me put this together:

Good times with good people.

Thank you all for coming. I had a crazy idea to make a chill space where people can genuinely connect and better themselves and their craft by listening to experts within in their fields and each other.

I hope everyone had a great day and managed to learn something! Here’s to the next one!

Feel free to tag yourselves in the comments if you spot yourself!

Had a great time attending **Just Right IRL** and seeing so many familiar and new faces in the creator community. 🙌

Even though I was only able to stay for one of the talks, it was genuinely insightful and packed with practical advice. It was refreshing to see an event focused on learning, collaboration, and bringing creators together rather than just the usual networking.

Big thanks to everyone who made it happen.. looking forward to seeing how this community continues to grow. ✨🎥🤝
