Took the @volkswagensouthafrica Golf 8.5 GTI to one of the most breathtaking drives in South Africa, the Golden Gate Highlands National Park. 🇿🇦🏔️

Where every twist, turn and climb reminds you that it’s not just about the destination. It’s about the road that elevates us. 🛣️❤️‍🔥

The template, nothing like a Golf 🥹💙

This being my first time in a 8.5 Golf GTI, we’ll be taking it on an adventure alongside a Polo GTI & the Amarok, stay tuned for that!

The 2024 BMW 3 series

Highly regarded as one of todays best daily drivers. The G30 manages to blend in luxury and performance. It being a sedan, the low center of gravity allows better handling capability than most modern vehicles like Crossover or SUV’s. The redesigned dual-screen informant system. Reasonable boot space allows the perfect vehicle in the South African market.

Now I say perfect, it is perfect if you means to be able to acquire a vehicle at this price range. The 2024 facelift BMW 320i starts at R913,731 for the Sport Line and R963,731 for the M Sport version.

* BMW 320i Sport Line: R913,731
* BMW 320i M Sport: R963,731

POWERTRAIN

We are quite accustom to the BMW lay out of all their makes and models including what’s under the bonnet. Engine size remains the same with a 2.0-litre turbo-petrol four-cylinder engine,paired with an 8-speed automatic transmission and rear-wheel drive.

0-100km/h: 7.4 seconds
Top speed: 235 km/h
Combined fuel consumption: 7.3-6.5 l/100 km

INTERIOR

The 3 series cabin is always good with the technology and the interior using high quality materials. Combined in a single panel, the 12.3-inch gauge display and 14.9-inch infotainment display float gently atop the 3-series’ dashboard.

VERDICT

While it provides a comfortable ride and engaging handling, the steering feedback is less communicative, and the rear seats are somewhat cramped. But that would be nit picking, it would be expected in small sedan. There was a reason why It won cars.co.za car of the year the past several years, it really is perfect.

9.5/10
