finally sharing some impressions of the first @asongforyouberlin show I had the honour to direct in April for the first edition of Sound Base Berlin at @hkw_berlin curated by @its_pambam

as much as I love movement I also love music and I usually very rarely share about this on here. this project taught me that you can grow beyond who you think you are – still so often it can feel so difficult to really own all of who you are. when I first moved to berlin I came to dance, never did I imagine one day I would direct music shows, choreograph and sing in all the most beautiful venues berlin and beyond has to offer. we can be many things at once – that’s the lesson I want to carry with me.

creating this show felt like translating the home we created as a collective into a show and a stage concept. super proud of the full team flying out the nest for the first time and @noahslee for guidance and creative input from the distance.

direction & concept: Stephanie Ilova
Musical dircetion: @musicallysagrace
production: @rose_kiamuahela
Set design w/ my fave: @maureen.berend

We can’t wait to present to you one of the most powerful bodies of music we’ve created to date - A Soulful Missa. It was always our dream to perform on stages and in a venue like @konzerthausberlin. This one feels extra special since we’re doing it at home, with the luscious support of the 60-piece Konzerthausorchester.

Thank you to everyone who has bought tickets so far - they’re moving fast! Get yours via the link in our bio.

The amount of talent that we had this year is overwhelming. I am in awe and amazed at the show we accomplished. I never feel good enough to lead such talent, and thankful God is in control. Till next time, can’t wait till next time. Merry Christmas, and Happy New Years. Thanks @carlih10 for the photo!
