AFRO YOKI has been on repeat.

TSUMYOKI brings together hazy melodies, laid back production and that late night feeling that makes a song impossible to leave alone. There is something effortlessly cinematic about the track, like a memory you cannot quite place but somehow already know.

If this one is not on your playlist yet, consider this your sign.

Listen to AFRO YOKI by TSUMYOKI.

SLIDE J: @gr.ovy

For this feature on Third Surface, we’re looking at Grovy, an artist whose work feels deeply connected to the rhythm and atmosphere of dhh culture.

There’s a constant sense of movement in the visuals. Even the quieter pieces feel alive through the way textures, composition and color are handled. A lot of the work carries the raw energy of the music it’s attached to, especially through collaborations with artists like Sammohit and MC Altaf and his connection to Gully Gang. Nothing feels separated from the culture around it, the visuals feel part of it.

What makes the work stand out is the range. One project can feel gritty and heavy with layered textures and distressed surfaces, while another feels clean, cinematic and stripped back. The style keeps shifting, but the identity never disappears. There’s a strong understanding of mood in every frame, knowing when to let things feel chaotic and when to pull everything back.

A lot of artists build around one formula. This work feels different because it keeps evolving while still feeling honest to itself. That balance is what gives it its presence.
