SUMMER TIME // Semester Project // Summer Semester 2026

//slide 1-3 ATTIMO by ADRIAN GRABOW
@adrianograbow

Attimo - A compact aperitivo stand
Attimo was designed for bar and café patios or small balconies. It combines the features of a tiered serving stand with those of a compact side table.
Inspired by the tradition of the aperitivo, it invites you to enjoy small rituals: sharing a drink, savoring olives and snacks, and slowing down the pace of everyday life.

//slide 4-6 RIO by Carl Cosmo Resenberg
@carl_cosmo_

Río is designed as a mobile system to be installed in the summers on urban waterfront promenades. It addresses the growing importance of cool spaces in public space. A purely manual pump system allows passersby to enjoy a refreshing footbath with a view of the flowing water.

//slide 7-9 COHABIT by ANTON BENZ

COHABIT conceives of the balcony as a space shared by people and animals. As a multifunctional piece of furniture, it serves as a side table in the summer and a birdbath in the winter. Inspired by topographical landscapes, it promotes urban biodiversity without taking up any additional space.

Product designer Adrian Grabow (@grabowdesign) taps into accessory making to create #multisensory and organically shaped #fidget tools for everyday use, dubbed CHARMS.

Made of wood, #silicone, stainless steel, or recycled materials, these objects help destigmatize nervousness and concentration difficulties and make “emotional self-care visible” through “accessible aesthetics” and high-quality design, as Adrian explains.

One of the highlights of our one year event was the presentation of the work of the International Student Ambassadors. Celina Kroder, Tayo Oke and Zaheer Shuyajee talked about their experiences as Ambassadors and about conducting a workshop for Design Graduate Students in the other country at the partner University. They talked about cultural differences and similarities, about their exchange on views and expectations on design in the 21st century and about their Workshop concepts of the Workshops LIGHT + LIMINALITY and “LIGHT + MODULARITY. Both topics were about light and centered around ideas of Modernism to make them comparable.

The results of the LIGHT + MODULARITY workshop were on display in the exhibition. As the entire event was hybrid, embassy member Carl gave a digital tour of the exhibition, allowing the design students to present their urban light designs to our guests from all over the world.
