GRACE + ANDREW 9.25.26!!!!

Listen….. you know those weddings where you are sitting there and you get a chill that runs through your entire body because you can just FEEL how much the couple loves each other? That’s what was happening to us ALL day on Grace + Andrew’s day. To the point where later in the evening Lexi turned to me and said “my face hurts from how much I’ve been smiling” THAT is the kind of day it was. Grace + Andrew, you have our hearts forever.

Chicago History Museum is also just one of my favorite venues because getting ALL the guests on the steps for a photo is so iconic. It was such a surreal moment when Grace + Andrew stepped forward and looked back at all of their guests. Heart exploding.

A morning outside of the Art Institute with the sweetest pair, Grace + Andrew!!!! From the moment I got on a call with Grace I knewww that we were going to get along so well. And then we went and had the most fun engagement sesh AHHH. Adore these two so much already and I cannot wait for their day next year at Chicago History Museum 🎉🎉

So proud to say that today officially marks 1 Year alcohol free for me. One year ago today I made the decision to put a stop to my problem and enter an outpatient rehabilitation program that specialized in addiction and substance abuse. Years of excessive drinking on a daily cadence led me to a cycle of constant isolation, anxiety and depression. I strained relationships with family and friends, squandered work opportunities and completely lost sight of my personal health. What has followed my decision to quit drinking and seek help has been nothing short of amazing. In the last year I finally returned to school and finished my degree, I got engaged to marry the love of my life, reopened myself to experience and developed a true sense of self that has helped guide me tremendously. I can’t thank the family and friends I have close to me enough for their continued love and encouragement, I am extremely lucky to have the support system that I do! One thing they preached in treatment is to “Make your mess your message” so with this I say; If you or someone you know is struggling with alcohol or substance abuse please reach out to somebody for help. There are so many avenues of support that you can access, all of which can be life saving in their own capacity and I’m always more than happy to lend an ear or direct people to lines of service I know have helped me. Be kind to yourself today, you deserve it!
