Just some hones(tea) from my being.

The journey of body dysmorphia has been deep and more on going than I like to admit to myself sometimes. Exposing these voices in my life has been great support. I am not perfect, I have not over come these voices or clown house of mirrors it can sometimes feel like.

Over the last few months my body has changed. I’ve gained weight. My life has changed in ways I never could have anticipated. And with those changes, old voices have resurfaced. Voices that tell me my worth is somehow tied to how desirable, disciplined, or beautiful I appear.

Bringing those voices into the light has been one of the greatest acts of devotion I know. It does not make them disappear overnight, but the secrecy is where they can fester into my insides and convince me that it’s real.

Supporting women loving themselves through the ever changing beauty of the woman’s body, is my greatest joy and devotion. I desire women to feel their aliveness, to merge with the elements and remember where they come from.

There is an eros that emerges when we stop abandoning ourselves in pursuit of perfection. When we learn to meet the body not as an object to be managed, but as a living landscape the holds all of us without judgement.

This is the work that continues to find me before it ever asks me to offer it to another.

Wild Eros is always putting the mirror back onto me and reminds me of why this work means so much to my soul. May we all remember the aliveness and truth that lives beneath the stories we have been taught about our bodies.
