feeling pretty lucky in red

To say that I am honored is an understatement. My heart is so full of gratitude. I’m beyond honored to represent Hillcrest as this year’s Miss Hillcrest.

Just days before the event, a high ankle sprain changed everything I thought this week would look like. I was devastated, but that setback became one of the greatest blessings. Instead of focusing on what I couldn’t do, I started to see just how much I could. I’m so grateful for every prayer, every kind message, every bit of encouragement.

Thank you to my dad for the hours of interview prep and for being my model of kindness and confidence.

Thank you to my mom for believing in me and holding every little detail together.

Thank you to my dance coaches for helping me find confidence when I didn’t feel like myself.

thank you to all my friends and family who listened to all the heartbreak and provided me with so much love and support

Thank you to everyone at Miss Hillcrest for helping me share my love of dance safely.

Above all, I’m thankful to God. His plan didn’t look like mine, but it was so much better. I prayed for strength and felt his hand every step of the way. What I thought would be a loss became a lesson in trust, growth, and gratitude.

My Lola is 17 today! I could not describe accurately what an amazing girl she is! Kind, thoughtful, determined, and if you know her or are her friend consider yourself one of the lucky ones! The love she shows me is one of the most special things and I consider myself lucky beyond reason to be her dad! Lola you’re the GOAT! Happy Birthday!! ❤️

Today I said goodbye to my best friend for two years. Me and grace have been so close ever since I can remember. We’ve been through everything together and I can’t imagine life without her. We’ve always loved the same things whether that’s llamas and narwhals or being overly obsessed with the color teal. We’ve always had the most special bond, A bond I’ve never experienced with anyone else in my entire life. Me and grace would do anything we put our minds too, including starting a lipgloss business that blew up. We received 6 orders total that were all from our cute girl cousins. I have the best memories with her and have learned the best things from her and our adventures. Hit us up if we should start the lip gloss business back up after the mish. Grace is going to be the best missionary Minnesota has ever seen and I couldn’t be more proud of her. Don’t know what I’m gonna do without you grace you’re my best friend ever and I love you so much I can’t put it into words.

We are not sure whether they are fiction or nonfiction but, someone once said, “ never let a lie get in the way of a great story”. The Harris family brought music, athleticism, camaraderie, and connection. And stories that will be told for life times.
