A single post can’t capture the presence of the Lord that we experienced in Japan. He showed me the power of His presence in a country that is <2% Christian. I learned how to listen and look to Him in the little moments. That it is not about the outcome that I see, but to be able to plant a seed that God continually waters. I am beyond thankful for the opportunity to have gotten to co lead this trip. I am so incredibly proud of my team. The way that they stepped up and stepped out of their comfort zone so that no one they met would go without getting to experience the joy of the Lord through them was inspiring. This trip brought me a family that will walk beside me through thick and thin. The Japanese will forever have my heart. God has big plans for Japan.

Thank you to everyone who supported me and helped me go on this trip, I’m so grateful to have learned so much with people I love and admire and I hope to share the love I have experienced from my team! If you are ever thinking about going on a missions trip, I highly recommend, I just to happens to be a place I really wanted to go to, thanks Japan but more so thank you Jesus!

WOW it’s hard to put this experience into words. I was just blessed with the amazing opportunity to spend two weeks telling people about Jesus in a country that is less than 3% Christian, but even with that being said God’s presence was everywhere. In the free hugs, spike ball games, skatepark friendships and even in the separated trash cans God blessed us with the opportunity to love on people and make new friends! Japan and the people I met there will always hold such a special place in my heart, and I’m excited to see how God will continue to work.

Since I first started skateboarding, I have always admired the skate culture in Japan. I never could have imagined that six years later I would be called to co-lead a mission trip where I would have the opportunity to skate the very places I had only seen on YouTube and Instagram.

I am overwhelmed with gratitude for my team and our field partners who made this trip so impactful not only for me, but for everyone we met along the way. Less than 1.5% of Japan identifies as Christian, and many of the people we met had never heard of Christ or met a Christian in their entire lives. At first, that statistic made me nervous about the interactions I would have. That anxiety quickly disappeared as I realized how incredible it was that we could share love and kindness that many people had never experienced before. Whether they realize it now or not, their lives have been impacted by those encounters.

The people of Japan are ready for Christ, they simply need people willing to go and tell them about Him. To my team and to all the missionaries faithfully serving in Japan, I cannot express in words how proud I am of you or how thankful I am for the work you have done and continue to do.

I am so blessed to have had the privilege to make connections through our shared passion for skateboarding in a nation that does not speak my language, and to use that common interest to plant and water seeds of faith. Through this trip, I have found new brothers across the world and made memories that will last a lifetime.

J-Skate 2026 will always hold a special place in my heart, and I cannot wait for the day I return to the Land of the Rising Sun.
