A perfect day for a gallery walk. Today we honored the 26 artists from our mural project, #PaintingPaseo 26 Blocks of Joy. We walked the length of Paseo Park as the artists explained the inspiration behind their work. We heard stories of influences from around the world: Bangladesh to Bolivia, Japan to Jackson Heights. We talked of jazz, vintage kombi buses, local birds, local dogs, the Paseo Park grid and the NYC subway. We were joined by Council Member Shekar Krishnan, Queens DOT Commissioner Nicole Garcia, the DOT Art Arterventions team, Make the Road NY, Epicenter NYC, The Garden School - who were all part of making this massive undertaking possible.

New on 34th Ave… Paseo Park!! Wonderful art between 69th St to 95th St can be seen on each corner of these blocks. Check em out if you are in the area, such a great addition to the community 🎨🙌.

Can’t wait to share this with CE3 for his birthday - him riding atop the runaway train engines from the 2010 film “Unstoppable” his current favorite film ever (it’s his first PG-13 film he’s watched, but it’s just for a few train crashes, explosions).

Thank you Grace Alejandra for this fun piece of art! You all should hire her if you want something cool too!
