#ThompsonHall and @sarahpickthall were so chuffed to welcome audiences in to the Syncing Space lounge for the UK/Singapore launch alongside 30 guests celebrating 4 wonderful artists from Singapore and the UK pulling out all the stops to shape work that is learning disabled and autistic leadership, reflection and provocation in action. Oh yes!

Congratulations to @abstractwill @gracecurrieart @abrahamkohxin @maddilingard who have all explored their place as artists in an international framework in this fourth residency over 8 weeks with #SyncingSpace.
Check out their work and the exhibition, now live at www.syncingspace.org

Thanks to our brill partners @venturearts @art.dis.singapore @rocket_artists @actionspace @dashdisabilityarts and @tanyasartstudios and our other creative supporters and associates @coldharvcash @sheep_films who keep us steady and of course @aceagrams in the south east who have supported Syncing Space so that artists with learning disability and autism can find and define their leadership for the road ahead and see themselves as internationally relevant.

Introducing @gracecurrieart - the third of our four current #SyncingSpace @SyncThinking residents who has studio space at home.

She joins Syncing Space with generous support from @dashdisabilityarts and is a bit of a firework with ‘bursts of energy but also ‘fizzling out’.

She reminds us that highs and lows of being a disabled artist and that is ‘just how it is’. Grace you are brill, you light up our skies!

Over the past few weeks, Grace has hosted an open studio and this way of influencing sits at the heart of her practice that longs for connection and joy.

Go to syncingspace.org and check out her studio

With thanks to our other partners and supporters for this residency @VentureArts @RocketArtists @DASH @actionspace and our creative supporters who make it all possible and @acegrams who are supporting Syncing Space so that artists with learning disability and autism can find and define their leadership for the road ahead and see themselves as internationally relevant.

Co-Lab-oration with @gracecurrieart open studio. Inviting local community to join us in creating a mural of portraits of the people and animal friends. Grace will continue to paint this piece in her studio and record it on Timelapse. We also had tea and cake! #artist #portraits #collaborations #localcommunity #findyourpeople

Still buzzing from the exhibition opening at @compton_verney last night. To see the film we’ve made on display in such a gorgeous venue is pretty freakin cool.

Here’s to many more creative endeavours with you @gracecurrieart , visionary and troublemaker all the way!

Thanks to @dashdisabilityarts and @compton_verney for making it all happen with such warmth and enthusiasm, you’re all amazing ❤️

Thanks to my amazing fiancée @alanaemilydean_ for reminding me to slow down and to celebrate my achievements, big and small. You’re the best ❤️

Studio visit to @currie1952 studio this week turned into a new collaborative painting of a visit from Heather @dashdisabilityarts myself. Grace got a new OHP. Projector so we tried it out and this is the beginning of something fab!

Finishing the week with another self portrait on my easel. From studio bed where I think, write and plan work in comfort. #artist #selfportraits #monotone #portraits

Today we’re celebrating International Women’s Day, and recognising the incredible women who shape Gateway Gallery.

From the artists whose work fills the walls, to the volunteers, curators and supporters who help keep the gallery thriving, women have always been central to the creative life of this space.

Art has long been a way for women to share stories, challenge perspectives and bring new voices into the cultural conversation. We’re proud to provide a place where those voices can be seen, heard and celebrated.

To all the women creating, supporting and inspiring, today (and always) we celebrate you 🙌🩵

A film still of @thefrogperformer and @gracecurrieart having a cup of tea contemplating Grace's recent painting.

I am super proud of Grace who is the recipient of the inaugural Home Based Situated Practice (HBSP) 2026 Artist in Residence in partnership with @dashdisabilityarts and @compton_verney

Grace is making a film in collaboration with @my_paintedlife in which they will be animating Grace and her studio and house environments and Grace's paintings, creating animated portals between the painting worlds and the physical spaces of the studio and home!
