Found my person. Married her. Threw one heck of a party.

Keep Jesus first, love your people, laugh a lot, and enjoy the ride.

Life is good. God is better. 🤙🏼

If I could show you the hours and hours of training in the heat of summer that have gone into preparing for this competition, then maybe you could appreciate this accomplishment more.

Or maybe if you saw my sleepless night the night before, when I tossed and turned until the early hours of morning, the sleep I needed most mercilessly evading me—the deep rest I prayed for refusing to come.

I spoke a few things over and over to myself as I headed into the High Desert Havoc—the toughest competition I’ve done yet:
It is a privilege that my body can do this.
It is a gift to be able to move, to build strength, to do hard things. And I want to steward it well.
I don’t have to have strength for the whole workout, I just need to have strength to do one single movement.
I am stronger than my doubts.
I have earned my place here.
And looking back now I can see how many of these same things apply to my daily life—I don’t need tomorrow’s strength today, I just need to keep moving and do the next thing in front of me.

I kept reminding myself that I have done hard things before, and I can do them again, my average daily life being harder than anything I have to do on that competition floor. I truly did not feel I had what it took, and I was afraid of failing, but I just put one foot in front of the other and kept going.

Payten was an amazing partner and absolutely crushed it, couldn’t have even come close to first place without her. It was also Randy’s first comp ever! He did so great and it was fun to share the whole experience with him. Huge shout out to @crossfitmagnify for hosting one of the best events I’ve been a part of. It was so well-organized and the judges were phenomenal. 💥

Grateful for the reminder that what we do in the dark will be seen in the light. The small, hidden steps of faithfulness and putting in the work and the time, day after day and week after week all adds up to something great.

Just keep swimming. 💪🏼
