What a weekend! 🥾⛰️

3 days on Dartmoor with a bunch of brilliant women, learning proper outdoor skills… and somehow managing to laugh our way through most of it! 😂

Huge thanks to @ngmountaineering for the fun, shenanigans and keeping us going in questionable weather 🗺️🤣

Navigation is actually VERY cool — although apparently convincing yourself that this definitely looks like the feature on the map is not considered a legitimate navigation technique. 🤦‍♀️

We practised outdoor first aid too, which turns out to be considerably funnier than it has any right to be. Particularly when your casualty is dramatically committed to the role. 😂

So much learnt, so many laughs, a few muddy boots and a whole new appreciation for Dartmoor.

Would 100% do it all again. ❤️ Although I am still owed a gold star ⭐

In February I joined the first @lizziedalyevolved six month guided programme for women to grow skills, knowledge, competence and confidence in the outdoors.

As someone that works in the conservation sector, has travelled the world for their job and has loved the outdoors since they can remember, I signed up to this programme to try and grow confidence in what I had already but also see what I was missing.

Over the six months I have fallen back in love with trail running, grown strength (full push ups and front squats 👀), gained confidence in my identification skills and felt so welcomed by an amazing group of women.

With my job being hectic and me wanting to do every single thing possible rather than focusing on one skill at a time, I still need to revisit a lot of the resources that @lizziedalywild excellently put together BUT I am so truly grateful for the foundations I have gained from this programme and the community I am now part of
