And I can’t wait to share more work - like this beautiful flat lay - from @jessicaschmittphotography!

I admit some tears were shed while recording this episode of Open Container on @rockfightco with the irrepressible Eric Larsen @elexplore But there was also laughter, and stories of the far ends of the Earth, and of family, and friendship, and the joy of the two of us talking about all that makes us want to live the full potential of our lives (and, Eric tells me, hot soup).

Eric is an inspiration, an adventurer and a mentor to those who want to go see the planet at its most daunting and rewarding. And he’s a solid human who has helped me navigate the difficulties of a cancer diagnosis and is dedicated to his family. Please listen in as we talk about all the world has to give us. And let us know what you think.

Download the podcast here or at the link in my bio. Please follow us and leave that five-star rating and a review if you enjoy it.

SHOW NOTES
WALKING THE PATH: Hat adventure and cancer can teach us.

Today Doug opens the container with adventurer Eric Larsen.
Doug begins the show by sharing how his life was shaped by his cancer diagnosis in the fall of 2024. A diagnosis that has not only reshaped his perspective on life but also deepened his appreciation for our beautiful planet.

Doug is then joined by polar adventurer (not explorer) Eric Larson, who has also battled cancer. Eric’s extensive travels in some of the planet’s most remote regions provide a unique lens through which he is better able to examine resilience and the healing power of nature. Together, Doug and Eric explore the connections between their personal battles, the unique challenges of parenting, and the broader environmental crises facing our planet.

When you meet up with your friend for a hike and she hands you her camera (that you’ve never used before) and says “here take some pictures of me running up this hill” 😂

What a journey the last few months have been. Thank you @cllctv_mtb @_matt_noble for taking me on and providing me with the opportunity to ride some really amazing bikes. New things are on the horizon for ‘24 and I’m excited for what’s in store. I love those who are close to me and I made a lot of special connections this year. Thank you 😊

Thank you to everyone that made it out to the first ever pop up Yoga Ride today 🚲🧘‍♀️⭐️

10 riders made their way through north Boulder to Salberg park, where gracejohnston_ facilitated an introduction to all things yoga. We focused on our breath, soaked in some sunshine, and afterwards made our way over to Lolita’s grocery for post session snacks.

Who knows, we might just have to host another Yoga Ride in October given how much fun it was 🎃🧘‍♀️🏔️
