@breckepic 2026 — you wonderful, life-changing, beast of an experience. 🫠

You checked every box on my goal of getting better in all the ways. This race is not for the weak — a lot of miles, a LOT of elevation, and an even bigger dose of mental toughness. But what a gift it is to get to do something this hard. The hardest part may be the carbs needed 🤣 .

My support system was unmatched. I couldn’t have asked for a better crew to help me through the highs, the lows, and everything in between. @crampngoslow @hunt.mountain @gracekroeger @_rideordiecollective_ @jamesstokoephoto 🖤🖤🖤

Most days, the pieces don’t line up. This one did.

It’s hard to explain ski photography without making it sound romantic, especially when I feel most of it is just patience wearing thin. Waiting on new snow. Waiting on a snowpack that isn’t trying to end your day (or life) early (especially here in Colorado, where persistent weak layers “persist”). Waiting on light that isn’t flat or blown out. Waiting on people willing to wake up in the dark, stay out too long, and walk farther than feels reasonable just for a few seconds that might be worth keeping.

But this day, over a year ago now (February, last season) it’s still stuck in my head. Everything clicked: stable enough, deep enough, bright enough. @gracekroeger and @blakeski_sam brought me along, skied hard, kept it honest, and gave me the space to chase frames while still getting their share of blower powder. We left with tired legs, full cards, and a handful of images that might outlast the hard drives they’re stored on…. Good enough to pull me out of another quiet stretch where posting felt pointless, and remind me why I keep coming back to this.

Some days deserve to be remembered out loud.

Sam, Grace, hell of a day. This season feels like it’s running on fumes, but I’ll wait it out. The next alignment always comes eventually.
