A long day at our Autism Awareness Slow-Pitch Softball event today!🥎

A huge THANK YOU to all of our players, coaches, volunteers, supporters, and everyone who came out to help make a difference and support a great cause. I truly appreciate everyone who gave their time and helped make today possible!

And we’re already thinking BIGGER for next year!

Our goal for 2027 is to turn this event into an Autism Awareness Slow-Pitch Softball Tournament with possibly 4 to 8 teams and use 2 fields, depending on how many players come out and participate! But each team must have minimum 5 girls ages 15-18 playing the field. .

📅 Saturday, August 7, 2027
🥎 Player eligibility: Ages 15–21

We want to keep growing this event year after year, bringing more players and families together, raising autism awareness, and making an even bigger difference in our community.

Today was another step forward, and I’m already excited to see what we can build for next year!

Thank you again to EVERYONE who was part of today!

OC Bombers 18U Select 2026

Going into this season I had no clue what to expect. I hardly knew the girls, I had no idea where I’d primarily play, and no idea how I’d feel after leaving MY team this same time last year. Now that the season is officially over I can report back on saying that the girls I “hardly knew” are now some of my bestfriends and I thank them for helping me get through this season. This season taught me a lot of lessons, and I am leaving with those and all of the blood, sweat, and tears that I put in. This season may not have been my best, statistically, but the memories I made with these girls and of the lessons learned were worth every hard moment. As I move onto my next chapter at OCCC and back to my old team I am excited and looking forward to re gaining my confidence and myself back. I want to personally thank my amazing Mother for all of the money, effort, time, and energy she put into this season for me. And a special thank you to my bestfriend Morgan, who may not have been my teammate this year but still helped me throughout my worst days, and helped me to be the player, teammate, friend and person I am today. I will miss all of my fellow seniors dearly for I wouldn’t be who I am today without you guys. & out of all things and after everything this season put me through, IM STILL STANDING.

Autistic people can face challenges that others may not always see or understand. Some struggle in school or in the workplace, sometimes because teachers, coworkers, supervisors, and members of management have not received enough education about autism. Autistic individuals may experience bullying, misunderstanding, isolation, anxiety, sensory overload, and other mental-health challenges.

Many adults may also be autistic without ever receiving a diagnosis or the understanding and support they needed earlier in life. They may spend years wondering why certain environments, social situations, expectations, or workplaces feel more difficult for them than they seem to be for others.

That is why I want this event to do more than raise money. I want it to bring greater attention to autism, encourage education, create understanding, promote acceptance, and remind autistic individuals and their families that they are not forgotten.

I sincerely appreciate everyone who has contributed to our Autism Awareness Slow-Pitch Softball Game Series. Thank you to every business, sponsor, volunteer, coach, and individual who donated money, gift baskets, gift cards, time, services, or resources.

We plan to continue working hard, growing this event over the years, and raising funds to support Learn with Lexi LLC and the important work it does for autistic individuals and their families.

Most importantly, thank you to every girl who agreed to play in the games.

Without these softball players, this event would not be possible. They are the true heroes, difference-makers, and advocates for autism awareness. Their willingness to give their time and use the sport they love to help others says so much about their character, compassion, maturity, and hearts.

Some may have even chosen to miss a travel-ball tournament or give up other opportunities to participate. That kind of sacrifice should not go unnoticed. They chose to serve their community, make a meaningful difference, and use their talents for a purpose greater than themselves.

Their head coaches, families, parents, schools, and communities should be extremely proud of them.

This is our finalized and confirmed roster for the August 8 Autism Awareness Game.

Thank you to every player who is willing to step onto the field, play softball for this important cause, and help make a difference in the autism community. Without your participation and support, this event would not be possible, and we would not be able to raise money for Learn with Lex, LLC. You are truly appreciated and giving back to our communities and autism world and people by using your talents! Which doesn’t go unnoticed! You are hero’s! 🥎🥎🙂💪

A few players from each team had to back out this week due to other obligations, which we completely understand.

Thank you for your commitment and for helping us make a difference by educating others about autism, increasing awareness, and promoting greater understanding and acceptance.

We truly appreciate each and every one of you!
