Earlier this year in March, @gracestapleton19 reached out to me about creating a “one-of-a-kind gown” for her wedding welcome party. I was both excited and intimidated by the opportunity - especially knowing it would be worn at what would turn out to be a literal fairytale WEDDING !! HELLO

Over the summer, I visited New York to go fabric shopping with Grace. After finding the most perfect pink satin fabric, I began the entire process by draping muslin directly on her body to establish the foundation of what would eventually become the finished piece.

Two virtual fittings, three pattern iterations, seven yards of Alex Perry Pink Crepe Back Satin, fifteen yards of eight-ply Baby Pink Dyed Ostrich Feathers, and countless hours of hand sewing later, I had officially completed my very first gown! Featuring a halter neckline, a fully open back, and a dramatic train trimmed with ostrich feathers, this floor-length evening gown was a true labor of love.

This project pushed me beyond anything I’d attempted before, and the finished piece is easily my most ambitious and rewarding creation to date.

I’m so proud of what I created, and even more excited about what I’ll create next 💕
