I don’t know, man! Life is full of ups and downs and often following Jesus is hard and you have to die to yourself a lot to find out who you really were meant to be.

And that’s the beautiful part I suppose—the journey of it all. Discovering parts of yourself through Jesus’ eyes that make you confront unhealed things in your subconscious in order to receive love better. Discovering how gentle and compassionate you really were all along deep inside.

There are a lot of life moments that are difficult to navigate because life IS hard and you still experience loss and grief and laughter and goodness sometimes all in the same week.

I guess what I’m saying is…even though I’m following Jesus and choosing to live based on how God calls us to, doesn’t mean I have it all figured out or that it’s all rainbows and butterflies.

But the last few months growing through valleys of hardships which led to strength, victory, and endurance?

Worth it every time. I never want it to look like following Jesus is perfect—as most followers of Christ know, it ain’t. But, it’s more than worth it is what I am trying to say. Turns out there’s a whole lot more to life than what we think we know.

Anyways, that’s it. Enjoy these photos from the last several months of my life which reflect God’s promises fulfilled, lots of community hangs, and a whole lotta smiley faces⛰️⛅️🥀🍟👯‍♀️

1 year of RWC Charleston.

When I read in Matthew 14 of Christ multiplying the fish and the loaves of a young poor boy to feed the 5,000, it’s a reminder that our obedience to God precedes our ability. When I think of RWC I think of the attribute of Christ being a “multiplier”.

We have seen baptisms, lives changed, and hearts opened to Christ. Incredible watching from day 1 God use a run club to become one of the most effective young adult ministries in our city. @runwchristchs

I believe I was made to be 30. It feels incredible—not because of the number, but because of the place in life I am in and the person I’ve blossomed into. I feel fully whole, created with intense purpose, and full of peace and unconditional love.

If you’ve experienced the version of me from the last six months, you’ve witnessed a life fully surrendered to Jesus Christ. I used to be lukewarm, half in and half out, trying to control my identity and my future. I thought I knew how to live, but my flesh was stubborn and a little ignorant. (& sometimes it still is!) it’s a daily surrender.

Ever since I spoke aloud to our Father, “Lord, I clearly have no idea what I’m doing, so my life is Yours,” everything changed. It was as if God said, “Finally. Now let’s get to work.” That one simple prayer was the best decision I’ve ever made.

The lessons I’ve learned, hearing His voice so clearly, and the way He has literally “showed up and showed out” has blown me away. To top it off, my sisters and brothers in Christ celebrated me with a “Garden of Life” birthday party. I was speechless. Looking around at my community that I had prayed for but didn’t know how to get. Turns out you just have to follow Jesus and He provides immeasurably more.

Several people have told me in this season, “Maria, you’re glowing. You seem genuinely happy.” To which my only answer is: It’s Jesus Christ who dwells in me. It’s not about perfection; it’s about the total inner transformation He does when we simply step into a relationship with Him.

I’m expectant for this decade and all He has in store.
I’m just Your vessel, Lord. My “yes” remains.
