POSTS STORIES REELS TAGGED

The cover of this carousel was decided by a poll on my stories last week. The last photograph came in second. which was honestly not the result I expected.

I wanted to share the film from Gracey + Landon’s little white chapel elopement in ETX because while I love their full collection, I am particularly smitten with how the film turned out.

The winning photograph got me with the color. The bright blue sky, deep green grass, little pops of red from the flags. Very Americana. Very much all the color + harsh light I adore. And then Gracey + Landon are just slightly out of focus, there’s a tiny bit of movement in their walk, and Landon has his ear turned toward her ever so slightly.

But the second-place photograph is personally my first.

I remember grabbing for my camera when Landon started fixing Gracey’s veil after they walked back up to the chapel. Completely unprompted. Just one of those little things between two people that could only have happened naturally.

Apparently the people disagree with me and that is fine.

But reading everyone’s reasons for choosing one over the other made me notice quite a few things about what we’re drawn to in photographs.

And I do believe that is becoming my next Substack. xx

The photos just after an intimate ceremony at a little white chapel in East Texas 🤍

I don’t think I’ll ever quite be over this day.

A little white chapel in a small East Texas town. Tall pines holding the quiet. An overcast morning that slowly opened into light.

After the ceremony, they stepped away together. Just the two of them. Reading their vows where no one else could hear. I stayed back and let the moment be what it was.

Some days stay with you like that.

Some wedding mornings feel loud. Gracey & Landon’s felt like a deep breath.

At the 1876 Chapel, the day started slow and overcast. Just how they envisioned. Gracey got ready inside the chapel with her mom and best friend close by. Excited. A wee bit nervous So proud. Family wandered in and out, chatting and assisting. It was the kind of movement that makes you feel right at home.

It wasn’t chaotic, or rushed, definitely not a production.

Landon drove in from Louisianan and skipped the usual “getting ready” photographs because that’s who he is. Quiet, grounded, and not here to be in the spotlight. He just wanted to show up and be present.

I photographed the day in both digital + film. Film fit their story so perfectly. Creating what I hope to be the kind of photographs you frame for decades.

Their day was not built around a timeline. It was build around presence. You could feel that from the moment we stepped inside.

A quiet East Texas chapel, surrounded by family.

No production, no pressure, just a love story that felt like home. Gracey and Landon’s wedding was small, intentional, and everything that matters most. The kind of day that reminds you what weddings are actually about.

Gracey + Landon in downtown Fort Worth 🖤
These two are getting married this month (!!) and I seriously can’t wait to have them in front of my camera again.

Engagement sessions always get me in my feels because it’s not just a warm-up for the wedding, it’s the little pause before everything changes. The laughs, the glances, the way they just are together right now.

So thankful I get to document this season for them, and even more thankful I get to be there when they say “I do.”

Gracey and Landon’s story is the kind that sticks with you—rooted in tradition, brimming with connection, and wrapped in a quiet kind of magic. Their full collection is officially in their hands, and I couldn’t resist sharing a few of my favorites from their engagement session here.⁣
⁣
The way Landon’s military blues added a timeless edge to Gracey’s modern elegance, the soft overcast light giving everything a dreamy, nostalgic feel—every frame felt like a chapter of their story coming to life. We wandered the quiet streets of downtown Fort Worth, pausing to capture moments that felt like them—authentic, effortless, and full of meaning.⁣
⁣
There are so many more from this session that I’ll be sharing in the weeks ahead, but for now, here’s a little glimpse. Gracey and Landon, thank you for trusting me to tell this part of your story. I can’t wait to see what comes next for you. 🖤⁣
