We had so much fun performing at the weekend of the arts block party! It was even more fun because it was our first gig of the semester with some of our new members (intro post coming soon!) 🎶

A very successful “The Leipzig Audition” concert yesterday!

A special highlight was the skit featuring Ava Campeau, Gracie Chase, and Kariana Fenton, which made the concert even more enjoyable and historically informative!

Now we really know who got the job! 😉

Anybody who is able to (that being anyone in the city of Ogdensburg 18 or older) PLEASE make it to OFA today and vote YES to the proposed budget. If this budget doesn’t pass, so many important programs are going to be cut from the district, and won’t be available to students next year or the years to follow. If this budget doesn’t pass, summer marching band and other art and music programs are going to be cut. The schools arts programs have been such an important part of my life. They were my absolute favorite part of my entire time in school, and I’ve met so many of my closest friends and some of the most important people in my life through theater and music, and it’s ultimately what led me on the path to going to college to want to be a director. The budget not passing would also mean outside organizations could no longer use the school, such as our local ACT Children’s Theater and shows like Mario and Plundered.

JV Sports would also be cut, and if they are, so many less people are going to get involved in sports at the school. I know several people who either have or are going to college for a specific sport, and they would not have had that opportunity had the school not had JV sports for them to get involved it. Bottom line is, all these programs offer opportunities and experiences to students in a town that, quite frankly, has very little else. And it’s up to anybody who is able to to go and vote YES to pass this budget and preserve them for students now and in the years to come.
