A lil late to recapping a year full of moving and traveling, because I was busy moving in to a new apartment and flying home to Iowa for Christmas, but at least we’re starting off the new year behind and on-brand 😆 2025 gave me plenty of opportunities to step outside what felt familiar. I juggled a full-time job while moving 6 times, hopping from Alabama, to Iowa, to Maine, and now landing in Arizona for the winter! I took a leap and brought my photography outside of Iowa for the very first time. I packed up my gear, brought it all to Maine. Didn’t know a single person but we gave it a shot! Along the way, I got to capture so many meaningful moments for super cool people, including 4 surprise proposals, two on the calendar and two in the spirit of unplanned spontaneity🤪 (pretty sure I spelled that wrong) In between it all, I got to hike waterfalls with my husband, learn how to use my new flour mill through lots of trial and error (with Nearoth as my very loyal taste tester, even when they didn’t quite turn out or baked far too long) This year taught me to accept that missing the people I love at home, while loving the place I’m in can live in harmony. Not having all the answers to the ‘what’s next’ questions is tough, but there’s also beauty in not knowing. Ya know? I’m so thankful for this life I get to live and can’t wait to live another year of it (But like I won’t be mad if 2026 has a little less moving in store 🤠)
