this is the hardest post I’ve ever published. two guys have played and started through it all, we’ve been through every up and down. when I was in eighth grade I had the choice to go somewhere else and play and there’s times I still think about how different it would be if I had went. I chose to stay in the town that I love and that was always there for me, even though I may have had more success elsewhere I decided to say “Why not us.” Coming in as a freshman I knew I had a shot to play and worked day in and day out until I earned my spot as a starter by game one, I struggled but with hitting behind the best 3 players I’ve ever played with I had a ton of RBI’s. Record wise that was our best year and I am forever grateful for Chance, Alec, and O for leaving me and Ant the keys to the program. Sophomore year was a breakout year, I was all conference and had my best season numbers wise, it was also our worst season record wise but I will always be grateful of the memories with Caleb and Grady. Junior year was when it started to get better, we knew we could be better and we had flashes we won some games but when it came down do it we crumbled in big spots and big games. Lastly, my senior year, the hype around the team was great, we knew we were gonna be better and had the chance to do some things that haven’t been done here in a while, we then started the season 1-7, we were in the depths of it with so many questions to be answered. We then decided that we were what people thought and finished the season 11-14, going 10-7 in our last 17 games, won a playoff game and was the closet Struthers had been to a conference title since 2011, with all that said, two guys who came in, started, and took the program to the next level for the next group to succeed, we may have not done what we wanted, like bring home hardware to our city, but we CHANGED THE NARRATIVE of Struthers baseball. To all the guys I mentioned before, and everyone single one of teammates and coaches, I love you all very dearly, Thank you Struthers Baseball, 26 OUT ❤️🖤
