The day started with rain, but the sun showed up right on time. So did the community. At UR Community Cares’ graffiti art battle fundraiser, color met purpose in the most powerful way. Artists transformed blank canvas in real time. Music moved through the space. Local bites and brews kept everyone fueled. The silent auction, filled with hometown favorites, tied it all together.

More than $3,500 was raised to support programs like Neighbors Helping Neighbors, Cycling Without Age, the Tech Center, UR Vision resources, and the Parkinson’s support group. This is a reminder that when creativity and community show up together, real impact follows.

The 1st chapter is called “ Graffiti Kids “ It’s a dedication to my best friend Graffiti legend David “Sane” Smith.
We meet in Boys Scouts Troop 729 in Washington Heights, NYC. We both had a love for Hip hop music and began doing graffiti together in the eighties. He helped me get into photography by taking pictures of our pieces and making photo albums into them. Once we meet @henrychalfant at his soho studio. We were on a Mission to be featured on his next “Subway Art 2 “ book. I told David “ Man one day we should come out with our own book”
