What happens when you attend a masterclass? There's skill sharing, technique advice, inspirational suggestions. But when you attend a fantastic masterclass, there's excited chatter, material swapping, group critiques, gallery visits, storytelling, laughter, future plans and, if you're all really lucky, there's gluten free banana loaf, a barbecue and birthday cake! Thanks @grahamhollick for generously sharing your time, knowledge and inspiration! And @commoncraft_bearepp for working your butt off to ensure it all happened seamlessly. And to our fabulous femme group of makers, craftspeople and artists...thanks for 3 unforgettable days. ♥️ #rughooking #masterclass #art #craft #design

THIS IS NOT AI.

In fact, it took us more than 150 hours.

One hundred and fifty hours of creative endeavour. One hundred and fifty hours of togetherness. Shared stories, skills, support, encouragement, tactility, and immense pride.

To our three cover stars: you’re the best we’ve ever seen, and we hope you’re absolutely chuffed to bits. @brixtoncrafter @traceyjoseph623 and @estellawynter1 : Our Three Graces. Given half a chance, we have no doubt they could change the world.

Well done @brixtoncrafter and @grahamhollick for the lettering. The Stylist logo was not easy! And thank you @traceyjoseph623 for being the inspiration behind the patchwork. Your Broadwater Farm quilt lives on 💗

Thank you to @tomgormer and everyone @stylistmagazine for this fabulous commission. And thank you to the unknown woman in the room who suggested our group. The quote wasn’t our idea, but it captures exactly how we feel.

At Quilt Club, we are doers. We make things. We make connections. We quietly and actively dismantle barriers to creativity, confidence and belonging.

We’ve said it before, and we will say it again: after a few hours at Quilt Club, it’s sometimes hard to believe there’s anything wrong with the world. We are an incredibly diverse group of people, united by one simple thing: sewing textiles.

Making together reminds us what we’re capable of. It slows us down, brings us closer, and creates space for all kinds of conversations.

So here’s to more quilts. More real, radical accessibility. More bright colour. More making. And many more hours spent around the table together.

Much love,
Quilt Club
