I turned 68 last month - as I age, leg training becomes more of a
priority☝️
2️⃣ If you don’t train your lower body seriously in your 40’s & 50’s, you won’t be training lower body in your 60’s & 70’s
3️⃣ Front squats, 115lbs for 5
4️⃣ Front squat, 135lbs for 1
5️⃣ The good news is it’s never too late to start building muscle in your lower body🦵
6️⃣ Back squats, 175 for 3. My body weight is 148lbs.
7️⃣ Nordic curls - I use a exercise ball to assist so I can do several reps every set. This move is equivalent to doing bicep curls for your arms. Hamstring work is a huge part of building a powerful lower body.
8️⃣ This is my son-in-law Sal, who is a orthopedic surgeon in Florida. He specializes in hip and knee replacements. He tells me the majority of his hip replacements are people in their 80’s and 90’s who fall & break their hips because of weak legs 😞😢
It doesn’t have to be that way with you and I as we age 🤟😀
9️⃣ 5:30 am, coffee & prayer and a rare sighting of a comet ☄️ Glad the phone was nearby!🤳
🔟 Says it all 💯
Have a good weekend my friends 👊

Heading for my finisher, static hold pull-ups. 3 x Max time. This got in the way. 3 x 6-10 reps It's a beautiful day. Why not? The wood ring was just a quick placement to see and feel just how difficult this would be. Very. 🫣😬 I'll leave this for @em_fit_insta and @andreasschroeder60 Have a wonderful, healthy, fit day....#bekind because you just don't know. 🫶🏻🫶🏻✌️✌️#nevergiveup#keepmoving#lovemyfamily#

Happy Wednesday to my wonderous, inspiring friends ✨✨ I've decided to delve into the vast array of various push ups; from standard to the ever difficult planch push ups and all in between. If you include hand placement, assorted angles; inclines, declines, where ever you're body weight imagination travels. 🛫🛫 🧘‍♀️🤸‍♀️Yes, over 80 variations. I now incorporate V Grip pushups in all my upper body workouts. ( Biceps, Triceps, Chest, Shoulders) 3 Sets X Max. Goal 20 reps. TBH It's a push up accessory not to be included amongst my outdoor workouts. Warm weather appears to be with us in metro Atlanta. 🌞🌞The benefits of exercising in the sunshine are too familiar too ignore; from mood enhancement to various forms of outdoor exercise. Being barefoot @miin.barefoottrainer in the grass is my preferred choice. #neuropathy Be kind because you just don't know. Misirlou. Dick Dale 1963

A Happy and healthy, Thursday 🫶🏻🫶🏻 No weights, no machines. Body weight only. Assorted pushups, attempted pull-ups, Tucks, attempted front levers 🤣 Air squats, Stretching, Mobility exercises, Ab exercises. This is my fun time. At least 2-3 times a week....I do some type of body weight as a finisher to every workout. This V Grip push up workout was more challenging than my 2/20 V Grip push up. My balance, strength and stability was greatly tested. 😬😬 Ten is my temporary goal....Be kind because you just don't know. 🫶🏻🫶🏻

' Strength does not come from physical capacity. It comes from indomitable will.' Gandhi The slow climb to ten pull-ups by 80.
Pull-ups were my go to, something happened and here I am.

This difficult pushup was being attempted by several trainers at @crunch.roswell but my inspiration came from not just the trainers but @em_fit_insta and @andreasschroeder60 the wood rings are their specialty, which I found when I attempted several months ago not only difficult but IMO highly unlikely. A monumental task, requiring a unique type strength and unreal balance. Challenges should never be easy that's why they're challenges. If you fail you still learn something for the better....Be kind because you never know. 🫶🏻🫶🏻#nevergiveup##fitness#keepmoving
