4 years ago I threw in the towel on bicycle racing, I tryhard pursued it for 8 years starting when I was 14 years old. I loved it for most of those and made a million good memories from those 8 years. By the end of it I just no longer had the passion and some specific events in my life had led up to me deciding that I didn't want it anymore. This first image is the last bicycle racing I completed without a DNF, I rode to the race from my home in mesa, an 83 mile ride that day.

Shortly after quiting riding bicycles I sold almost all of my gear, spare wheels bikes etc and of course did the natural thing; I bought a pissmissle shit box crotch rocket and rode it around and found out what 140mph feels like on two the first night I had it. I was (and am) a total squid.
And years later after halfway learning how to ride and ripping around way to fast on Arkansas back roads. I eventually got in trouble and in a way is probably a bit of a blessing. I was caught doing 88 in a 55, and I really didn't think it would be all that bad, but sure enough the judge thought it was pretty bad and I was put on a license probation. I made a decision that I needed to stop riding street bikes for the time being, for my own good. After all I've definitely almost unalived myself with a margin of inches at least a dozen times (check out the second video).
I have been working in the motorcycle industry for what is close to a year now and I love every day of it.
But I still need to be able to ride to keep the love there; so this last weekend a friend of mine and I both signed up for a CMRA race weekend. It was absolutely amazing, and sure enough I wadded up and crashed what used to be my primary street bike of several years within minutes of being on the track during the first practice session. The good part; it wasn't into a tree, a guard rail, a big ass truck or off of a cliff. The extra good part; I got the fuck back out there, definitely concussed and raced my motorcycle

And so here I am, feeling grateful, and like nothing has changed since I was 18 years old; absolutely in love with trying hard to go fast on a bike.
Huge thanks to all my friends, family and employers for everything.
