POSTS STORIES REELS TAGGED

Back in August of 2021, I had the honor of capturing hip-hop legend Rob Base performing his global classic “It Takes Two” — a song that helped define an era and still brings energy to every room the moment it comes on.

Today, I was saddened to hear of his passing.

As a photographer, there are moments you capture that become more than just images…they become memories tied to culture, music, and history. I’m grateful I had the opportunity to witness and document a true icon doing what he loved most.

Rest in peace, Rob Base. Thank you for the music, the energy, and the memories that will live on forever.

Brooklyn’s Finest

What a historical night as the Brooklyn Borough Hall housed iconic images of Hip Hop Culture through the lens of photographers recording history. I was able to reminisce with so many of my peers from my Harris Publication days with @xxl King Magazine & Scratch. I got to hear more about the far back moment of Honey, The Source and the @thegreatestdayinhiphop photographed by @gordonparksfoundation . We heard from the woman whose empowerment on set pushed through a vision to be historical today. I love hip hop and it has taken me in as a child mentored by many of these creatives, the pioneers who opened doors.
It was awesome to see all of you and to be in this room of love and family through the power of photography.

Thank you @datwon @microtonyt @graphichouse @jamelshabazz @respectthemag and the whole Harris Crew 🙌🏼

It happened. Last night. Appearing at Brooklyn Court House 100 years of the greatest Hip Hop makers ‘n creators Jonathan Rhinegold honoring the legendary lens folks who graced the gods of hip Hop music.
