A lot of things are out of our control.

Tater Tots on the @greenmountaingrills seasoned with that @meatchurch for the flavor smackerooo right to your face piece. I said “Smoked” Tater Tots. Well. Some of you sticklers will get all cranky because my temps were about 325° and not really low enough to be truly smoked. If that’s you, head outside, take a deep breath a re-evaluate what matters in this world. And eat a dang tot. Also, is this a culinary feat of epic proportions? No. It’s cooking frozen tots. I know. Let’s have fun every now and then. Not everything has to be 5-Star Dining. K. Thanks for coming to my Ted Talk.

How else grew up on Hamburger Helper?

Coming from a home with a single Mom, sometimes my brother and I had to make dinner. So anything from a box, the freezer or could be thrown in the oven was usually dinner.

Now I love to cook, I’m self taught. I can cook almost anything I put my mind too, especially if I have had it before I usually can replicate any dish.

That’s a little back story on me..

So it’s been over 25+ years since I’ve had hamburger helper…and I would be lying if I said I didn’t think about it sometime. So when I came across this homemade ‘Fancy’ Hamburger Helper recipe by @gratefulandsaucy I couldn’t wait to try.

Ingredients:
-olive oil
-1lb hamburger meat
-onion
-garlic
-1 can cream of chicken
-2 cups water
-1.5 cups milk
-beef bouillon
-garlic powder
-sea salt
-seasoning salt
-pepper
-parsley
-Egg Noodles
-1.5 cups cheddar cheese (add at the end)

Follow reel or message for directions, but it’s pretty straight forward. Cook on medium until finished, after adding egg noodles it takes about 10 min simmering covered on medium as well.

This was a first for me but not a last! Definitely would need to tweak before sharing recipe but we are off to a good start!

This would be a smart way to use leftover chili. Oh, and don’t forget the sour cream on top!

This Spiral Sliced Ham on the @ovenbrothers Joint Rotisserie did not disappoint! I made a glaze with brown sugar, apple cider, molasses, honey, @kurvballwhiskey and some spices. And it was delicious! Cooked with @frontiercharcoal Lump.
