Sometimes, we get so busy chasing what we don't have that we forget to appreciate what we already do. 🤍
We wish for a better life, more success, more happiness, and more beautiful moments. But in the process, we often overlook the little blessings that make our life meaningful.
Be grateful for the roof over your head, the food on your plate, the people who care about you, and the simple moments that bring you peace.
Remember, someone out there is praying for the life you already have.
It's okay to dream bigger and work for more, but don't let the desire for more make you blind to the beauty of now.
Grow with ambition, but live with gratitude. 🌿✨

Starting off the day with a healthy and clear mind is one of the best gifts you can give to yourself! 😁😁😁 Since I started doing all these things that each literally only take a few minutes, I've noticed such a difference in how the rest of my mental health goes throughout the day! 😁 I use the mindfulness section on the Samsung Health app that came with my Galaxy, then the @gratefulness.me and @journalwithmirror apps! 😁

While everyone else is out here suffering from FOMO (Fear Of Missing Out)… I’m over here fully committed to FOBI: Fear Of Being Involved 😂🙅‍♀️

Listen, I know some of y’all are stressed about missing out on the party or the latest scene, but what people don’t realize is that being involved usually comes with a tax: CRAZINESS. The drama, the chaos, the unneeded noise? Please, politely… leave me out of it. 🫸✨

My peace is sacred, and I pick and choose strictly where my energy goes. And where does it go? Right here in my studio, creating a calm, high-vibe sanctuary for women who just want to look good, feel confident, and relax without the noise.
When you sit in my chair, you leave the drama at the door. We’re only focused on good music, effortless beauty, and skin/brows that speak for themselves. 🌺✨

I’m Mandie, The Umami Mami, and if keeping your circle small and your skin glowing is your vibe, you’re in the right place.

You guys are amazing.
God is amazing.
Surprises are amazing.
Grief is not amazing.
But it’s necessary.
Because we love.
We love so we miss.
We love so we cry.
We love so we live. 💜💚

Gratitude has been part of my mental wellness practice for over ten years now. Both as a practice, and as SOS.

In moments of extreme overwhelm, I sometimes close my eyes and think of three things that are going right for me. Or simply three things, immediately around me, that I am grateful for.

It is astonishing how quickly that can change my perspective on the things that, only moments earlier, felt overwhelming.

Over time, gratitude also became a more conscious part of my day. Not because everything was going wonderfully, but because I began noticing how many things were going right that I had simply stopped noticing.

And here is the interesting thing. The more grateful I became, the more I seemed to have to be grateful for.

Not because my life magically changed. Because my attention did.

We take so many small things for granted. A cup of coffee. A warm meal. Sunshine on a freezing day. The ability to travel. Flowers in all their glory. A quiet few minutes to ourselves. People we love. Our bodies carrying us through another day.

Gratitude also makes me look backwards occasionally and appreciate how far I have come, while being completely cognizant of how far I still have to go.

There is something reassuring in that. If I have come this far, I can go further still.

Strangely enough, although I had always understood the idea of gratitude, it was Instagram that helped me turn it into a practice.

Some years ago, when I was struggling to find some balance with my mental health, I came across people talking about gratitude here. That eventually led me to the @gratefulness.me app. Journalling with pen and paper may be the more traditional way of doing it, and I do a fair amount of that, but I discovered that I could find my moment of stillness right there, on the device already in my hand, in all the chaos around me.

And for me, that was life-changing.

So on World Gratitude Day, I’m grateful for gratitude itself. And, rather appropriately, for occasionally finding something genuinely useful while scrolling Instagram. 😬

I’m a big fan of anything that makes looking after ourselves feel a little easier (or makes it slightly harder to open Instagram for the 47th time 😬😅)

These aren’t going to be useful for everyone, but they’ve earned a place on my phone, so I thought I’d share.

⭐️ MENTAL HEALTH ⭐️

Today, Tamara is sharing something deeply personal. ❤️

Living with Multiple Sclerosis for more than 30 years has taught Tamara and Terry that the battles you see aren’t always the battles being fought inside.

There are days when the physical symptoms are overwhelming—and days when the emotional weight of chronic illness can be just as heavy.

Sometimes we simply check a box on a medical form: “How are you feeling?” But a checkmark can never tell the whole story. And how you felt last week may not be how you feel today.

Please don’t suffer silently. ⭐️

Tell your doctor how you’re really feeling—even if you’re embarrassed, scared, or don’t know exactly how to explain it. Find your people: a psychologist, psychiatrist, primary care doctor, family member, or friend.⭐️

Asking for help isn’t weakness. It is strength.⭐️

Tamara and Terry truly want to get this message out because your mental health matters. Your feelings matter. And you matter. 🧡

When I was sinking into depression, I didn’t know where to turn.

I was functioning on the outside~working, creating content, showing up for my family all on auto pilot~ but underneath it, I had no idea what to do with what I was carrying. My thoughts would swallow me at 3am.

So I went on an intensive hunt as I wanted to get better and I hated the state I was in. (Read: I couldn’t get out of bed, my hair was all matted, no shower for days sometimes, I was just crying in bed all day or numbly watching some crime shows)

I read anything that would help me understand my own mind.

I downloaded apps for the nights I couldn’t pray on my own, needed a place to journal, or just needed to talk without anyone hearing.

On Reasons to Stay, I’d spend hours writing letters to strangers ~somehow putting my pain into words for someone I’d never meet made it feel lighter to carry. I wanted to save the world when I myself was sinking.

I looked into therapy too, even when it felt like too big a step to take ~through the NHS here in the UK, Tele-MANAS back home in India, or BetterHelp if you’re anywhere else in the world as it is online. Having a space where I didn’t have to hold it together was one of the biggest turning points in my healing.

Some of it helped instantly. Some of it took time to sink in. I kept going back to @vexking’s book Good Vibes, Good Life whenever I needed an easy self love book to read.

But slowly, these resources became the things I reached for instead of spiralling ~a book, a journal, an app, a letter, a helpline, a reminder that this chapter wasn’t my last one.

As the days get shorter and the darker, gloomier months creep in, consider this your rescue kit too.

If you’re sinking right now, at 3am or in broad daylight, I hope even one of these helps you the way they helped me.

Save this for the night you need it.

Follow @trulysoulfully ~we’re healing, truly and soulfully, together. 🤍

Truly, Soulfully,
Vania x
