Cherish these moments forever.
The crisp fall air,
birds dancing overhead,
mystical clouds w glints of rainbow,
and sweet fiddle tunes!
What a perfect celebration for this amazing couple.

Katie and Christian said their vows with that mountain range behind them and did not rush a single line.

An outdoor ceremony has no walls to hold the sound in, so it goes quieter than you expect. People lean forward, nobody shuffles, and you can hear every word from the back row.

Wildflowers in urns rather than built arrangements. Nothing you put out there is going to compete with what is already behind you, so the job becomes not getting in the way of it.

Nobody here is wearing the same dress, and that was on purpose.

Olive, yellow ochre, chocolate, dusty blue, sage. Katie set the range and then let everybody choose within it, which is the version of this we always hope for but don't always get.

The men went tan. Christian went black. It reads better than anything I could have matched off a spreadsheet.

If you are getting married in the mountains and haven't looked at the Surf Hotel, you should.

River rock, aspens growing right up against the building, and a main street you can actually walk down in a wedding dress. Your guests stay where the party is, which quietly solves about six problems you would otherwise be solving at eleven at night with a shuttle company on the phone.

The arch did most of the work, and I am happy to admit it.

This location at Surf Hotel is iconic for first looks. The river rock gives you a frame without anybody having to build one, and the light coming through that opening in the middle of the day is soft in a way that ordinarily costs money.

Katie carried wildflowers. Yellow, white, a bit of everything, nothing that looked like it had been decided by a committee.

Last post of the month, and it is the end of a night.

My favorite hour of any wedding is the one nobody planned. The timeline has run out, the vendors are packing up, and everyone is still continuing the celebrations at the after-party. You cannot design that part. You can only leave room for it and hope.

I'm holding a handful of 2027 dates. We cap at fifteen to twenty events a year because I would rather do a small number properly than a large number adequately, and a few of next year's Saturdays are still open.

Weddings, galas and corporate nights. Link in bio, or just message me here. I answer them myself!

Sometimes, from the minute you have your first call, you know that you have found the perfect fit. That’s how it was with Becca and Sean. I just knew that they were for me and I couldn’t have been more right. Becca and Sean were so calm and present all day long. Focusing on being in the moment with friends and loved ones and couldn’t be bothered with controlling the outcome of a perfect day. Because of that, we all did have a perfect day. Sun and clouds, rain and leaves, it was all amazing and I’m so grateful I got to be there for it.

I’ll have to do a part two because I always choose too many favorites and then I forget to post the party.

Congratulations @ihartbecca and @caaaaaaroll ❤️

You can elope and still have your favorite people there.

They can be there when you say your vows, hug you afterward, and be part of the memories you’ll keep coming back to. Then you can head off together for a little time of your own.

Angelina and Alberto, married in Crested Butte with their family beside them and a little time at the end just for each other. The perfect day. ⛰️🍂🌲

I’ve been loving the idea of having a tribe on your wedding day but not necessarily a full wedding party. Large wedding parties can be stressful, expensive and full of different egos and different personalities. Having your best friends dress in similar colors and join you in a few photos is a much more relaxed way to go.

Especially when you’re as cool as this bride and also want to take a picnic-y, Bridgerton-vibe portrait of your ladies.
