The winds will blow their own freshness into you, and the storms their energy, while cares will drop off like autumn leaves.” -John Muir Dear Yosemite, Thank you for filling my curls with magical Merced water, and for allowing me to grow like roots in fresh soil. Thank you for reminding me what it truly means to be alive, and giving me the gift of waking up every morning and seeing something as beautiful as the North Face of Half Dome. Thank you for giving me adventures to look forward to every day and allowing me to feel confident in myself and my own strength. Words cannot describe the joy it would bring me to plan my week packed full of trails, climbs and adventures. 🧗‍♀️ Yosemite gave me the freedom to explore, to get my hands and feet dirty and challenge myself, showing me some of the most amazing things happen when you force yourself to step outside of what’s comfortable, and allow yourself to grow. 🌱 When I first arrived in Yosemite I was told “people here are like family, we take care of each other.” Every experience I had since that moment showed me that was 100% true. I will forever be grateful for the most kind-hearted, generous, honest, and amazing people I have ever met through this opportunity. Your smiles, laughs, and interesting stories brought joy to me every day. Yosemite has taught me that homes aren’t always somewhere with 4 hard walls around you. Sometimes a home is a comforting spot along a magical river or, a group of people, creating the sound of laughter, music and happiness to flow from one tent to another.🌀🏕️☀️ A part of me will forever be attached to Yosemite and consider it home🏕️. As I left the Valley I cried, leaving its beauty, although I was reminded of what my sweet Eva had told me, “This is not goodbye, just a see you later.”💌 Thank you Yosemite for everything you have taught me, and thank you to all of my friends and family at Yosemite for showing me love and kindness, and allowing me feel at home.
