We had our first volunteer meeting of 2024 so we thought it was a good time to share a little bit of what our volunteers did in the *1718.75* hours they donated in 2023! -sort, organize, recycle, haul, scrap and generally help ensure Nick and Jordyn don’t get lost under a mountain of wheels -share their knowledge, skills and expertise with every single person and wheeled object -make art with bike scrap and help facilitate others to do the same -paint, clean, sweep -table at events, help spread the good recyclery word, set up, break down, load, unload -refurbish bikes -build, repurpose, deconstruct, reconstruct, hack, hodgepodge, zip tie -tech support, website, graphic design -test ride all the weird bikes and ogle at all the funky parts that come in -“milk” old 90s forks -keep us laughing, on our toes, learning and coming back for more Recyclery volunteers come from all demographics and skill sets and more than anything we truly believe that they represent the heart of who we are and what we do! Have a good volunteer story/interaction/shoutout? Drop it in a comment Ready to volunteer with us? Fill out a volunteer interest form and attend a orientation the second and last Wednesdays of every month 5:30-6pm at the recyclery

Cargobikes are experiencing a notable surge in popularity, reflecting a growing trend toward sustainable and efficient urban transportation. As cities worldwide grapple with congestion and environmental concerns, cargobikes have emerged as a viable solution for last-mile delivery and personal transport. Businesses are increasingly adopting cargobikes for local deliveries, capitalizing on their ability to navigate congested urban areas, reduce carbon emissions, and minimize logistical challenges. The pandemic has further accelerated this shift, prompting a reevaluation of traditional delivery methods and emphasizing the importance of resilient and eco-friendly alternatives. Moreover, urban dwellers are embracing cargobikes for personal use, recognizing their versatility in carrying groceries, children, or other cargo. City planners are also integrating cargobike infrastructure into urban design, promoting cycling lanes and parking spaces tailored to accommodate these specialized bicycles. While challenges such as infrastructure development, regulatory adjustments, and initial investment costs persist, the present situation of cargobikes is marked by a promising trajectory towards sustainable urban mobility. #CargobikeRevolution #SustainableTransportation #UrbanMobility #EcoFriendlyDelivery #CyclingSolutions #LastMileDelivery #GreenTransport #CargobikeAdoption #ResilientUrbanTransport #CargobikeInfrastructure #SmartCities #EnvironmentalTransport #CongestionSolution #PandemicShift #CityPlanning #CarbonFreeDelivery #LogisticalInnovation #VersatileCargobikes #GreenLiving #FutureOfTransportation #UrbanDesign #CargobikeTrends @hh_tricargo.de @cycleentransition.fr @strassenfrachter @antric_gmbh @pedalandpost @rikschataxi

Big smiles from the Recyclery Collective (board and staff) as we closed out another slammin’ week. Happy to be here doing this work together! Not captured, unfortunately, the most classy well dressed trip over a pair of e- trike handlebars we’ve ever seen 💅

We made the tough decision to temporarily close down for the winter in order to regroup and refocus on what we do best – giving folks the space, tools, and support to ride bikes. We’ve been quietly working behind the scenes reimagining every detail of the ReCyclery. This new layout is a big step towards being able to host more programs, education and community 🚲 big things are happening and we can hardly wait to open back up again! Endless amounts of gratitude to our dedicated volunteers who have made this happen! We’ve loved seeing all of your bikes loaded up with demo equipment 🚧
