Grateful to FIU College of Law and the Green Family Foundation NeighborhoodHELP for hosting an Estate Planning Clinic at Legal Services of Greater Miami. FIU alumni and law students helped members of our community plan for the future and take meaningful steps toward passing on their homes to the next generation. Thank you for making this important work possible!

Meet the 2026 O, Miami Greenhouse artists. 🌱✨

This summer, twelve young artists from across South Florida joined us for our annual artist professionalization program.

Grounded in artistic mentorship, professional development, and creative community engagement, the Greenhouse supports Miami’s next generation of creatives, especially those working outside of traditional institutional frameworks. Each year, from June through August, our cohort is paired with a stellar lineup of Miami-based mentors, including filmmakers, poets, choreographers, and cultural workers. Each artist is matched with a mentor aligned with their creative practice, while O, Miami supports their professional development through poetry as a tool for self-expression and problem-solving.

Congratulations to all of our emerging artists! We can’t wait to see what you do next.

Thank you to the art spaces that welcomed our cohort into their space and hosted artist talks, tours, and more.

Interested in getting involved in the Greenhouse or hosting our next cohort? Email us at info@omiami.org.

Applications for the next Greenhouse open spring 2027.

With many thanks to Americans for Immigrant Justice for featuring and supporting my work! Great initiative! @americansforimmigrantjustice

Bandeira de Mello describes poetry as “an engine fueled by imagination.” Through both writing and visual art, she invites audiences into “a world of possibilities,” shaped by ambiguity, association, and the subconscious.

She hopes readers and viewers will enter that world freely, rather than search for a single fixed interpretation. For her, art is a shared experience, but one that must also grant “great liberty to the observer.” That sense of care extends to the act of publishing itself. “A writer should not just publish anything,” she explains. “It is important to give thought to what is worthwhile a reader’s time and attention.” At the center of her practice is the belief that “true art facilitates a conversation from soul to soul.”
