PSG generated €837 million last season.

€542 million came from commercial and matchday activities alone.

In 2011, the entire club generated €99 million.

That is the scale of the transformation.

Since QSI’s arrival, revenue has grown more than eightfold.

At the same time, the wage bill has moved from above 111% of revenue to below 65%.

The latest club figures show:

• Total revenue: €837m
• Commercial revenue: €367m
• Matchday revenue: €175m

Then there is the international network:

• 14 official stores
• 180 supporters’ clubs in 92 countries
• 177 academies in 21 countries

These numbers include PSG’s wider sporting organisation, not only the men’s football team.

The first team creates attention.

PSG can now convert that attention into sponsorships, products, matchday experiences and relationships with supporters around the world.

The contrast is striking.

Commercial and matchday activities now generate more than five times the club’s entire revenue in 2011.

PSG’s transformation is often told through the players it signed.

The business built around them may prove more important over time.

Valencia CF, the Malaga Sports Group, Meridia, Tangara Marbella and Prime Sport Capital Holdings, a consortium of private family offices and long-term institutional investors led by experienced sports executives, have agreed a partnership that will deliver new investment directly into the club, alongside sporting and operational expertise.

Through the purchase of shares from Meriton Holdings, Prime will acquire a significant minority stake in Valencia CF. The transaction values Valencia CF at an enterprise value of €1.25 billion, reflecting the full scope of the club’s assets, including the men’s and women’s teams, as well as the current 49,000 seat Mestalla and Nou Mestalla project set to be one of Europe’s largest stadiums, seating over 70,000 fans. Pitchwise will also provide €100 million in new capital, which will be immediately available for direct investment into the club. Prime will ultimately hold a 42% stake in the club. Meriton Holdings will remain the club’s majority shareholder,.

The new ownership group will lead the club through its most significant milestone in 100 years: the move to Nou Mestalla. This will give the city of Valencia – Spain’s third largest city – a stadium to match the club’s ambitions, in a country set to co-host the FIFA World Cup in 2030.
