Greenleaf | Al’s Bar | Lexington, Ky | 25 September 2026

Greenleaf’s first US tour, 26 years after their first release. The Swedish heavy rockers brought their ‘70s-steeped fuzz and big riffs to Lexington in support of The Head & The Habit.

I was fortunate to catch their set at Al’s after my first show of the evening seeing Pallbearer/Ordh/Faerie Ring show at The Burl. Fortunately it was right down the street!

When @gavsheavilycurated told me a year ago he was creating a festival and wanted me to do some video work for it, I was intrigued. I could tell he had a vision for this thing. We filmed band intros hosted by this goat character he created with a custom mask.

Between the videos we made, plus live visuals from @liquidlightlab and physical tickets (feels like a relic now), Gavin really went the extra mile to make @inthekeyofdoom an experience.

Also if you told me 12 years ago when I first saw @bongripperdoom that I'd be doing video work connected to them, I would have said you were crazy.

Gavin, in multiple ways, you are the GOAT.

Massive hails and a bittersweet bon voyage to our own GREENLEAF after wrapping their first-ever US tour last night at the inaugural In the Key of Doom Festival in Brooklyn New York 🤘🎸Everyone who experienced these guys firsthand during the past two weeks saw and heard something truly special from a band we have not had the good fortune of seeing on these shores before. Without doubt, we are ready for a new album and a return stateside in 2027! 😳 Thanks to Hans, Arvid, Basse and Tommi for making the trip and ripping roofs off night after night for your North American fans 💪

…IN THE KEY OF DOOM Festival. Presented by Gav’s Heavily Curated. Night Two: Celebrations. Another killer lineup! Tonight brought the return of my favorite band - HOWLING GIANT (Nashville). GREENLEAF (Sweden). RESTLESS SPIRIT (New York). LEATHER LUNG (Boston). CRYSTAL SPIDERS (Raleigh). One helluva great festival - I’ve loved every band on the bill. Thank you, Gavin!!

Fourth time seeing Greenleaf (2015, 2022, 2 weeks ago, and tonight)… what an incredible live band. If you haven’t seen them, you get one more chance in Vegas next year (do it!).
