Our PK3 and PK4 Dragons stepped outside the classroom and took their science studies to the farm today! 🌱

At Calleva Farm, PK3 students learned what farm animals eat and how they live while exploring the important role farms play in our everyday lives. Their hands-on farm experience even included horseback riding!

PK4 visited Green Meadows Petting Farm to observe signs of autumn and explore the life cycles of chickens and apples, building their understanding of how living things grow and change.

For our preschool students, these field trips offer opportunities to practice careful observation and connect classroom concepts with firsthand experiences. It’s one way Washington Episcopal School’s Early Childhood program helps our youngest learners make sense of the natural world.

Join us for Discovery Day tomorrow, October 24, from 9 to 11 a.m. to see where discovery begins at WES!

We went to go celebrate a special girls birthday here and it’s such a cute place to do so. They had animals for you to feed & pet. They also had some dogs and cats running around 🥺✨

Looking for things to do in October across Frederick? I’ve got the entire month covered for you.

From pumpkin picking at Summers Farm to a cozy coffee stop at Gravel & Grind, there’s a lot happening this month that’s actually worth putting on the calendar.

I pulled the best of it into one place so you don’t have to hunt it all down yourself.

Save this for when you need a plan, and send it to the person you’re making October plans with.

And if you want even more ideas for the season, I’ve got a much bigger list ready for you.

Comment FALL and I’ll send you my free 2026 Frederick Fall Guide with local events, seasonal favorites, and things worth adding to your calendar.

I’m Devon, a local real estate agent sharing what’s happening around town and the places worth knowing about.
